Set against the rich backdrop of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, tales of valiant warriors live on through the songs of bards. Many enthusiasts seek to connect with the legacies of these heroes by acquiring artifacts that once belonged to them. One such seeker is the Humble Knight, located near the Sedletz Monastery, who longs to pay tribute to Sir Valentine but finds himself unable to do so.
Graciously, Henry volunteers to assist, setting off on a quest to retrieve the sword of Sir Valentine for the Knight, enabling him to honor their hero. While this quest is rewarding, it does come with its challenges. Below is a comprehensive guide to the “The Reliquary”quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
How to Initiate The Reliquary Quest

To embark on this quest, journey north of the Sedletz Monastery where you will encounter the Humble Knight resting on a hillside. Engage him in conversation to learn about Sir Valentine’s storied past and his grievances regarding access to the monastery grounds.
Once you agree to help the Knight, you will begin a quest that involves exploring the crypt beneath the Sedletz Monastery.
Navigating to the Monastery
Following your conversation with the Knight, proceed down towards the Monastery. Upon entering the grounds, you will encounter an elderly monk reciting poetic verse. Speak to him patiently to receive another quest, which you can complete alongside The Reliquary.
He will request your assistance in tidying the Monastery, specifically by arranging bones into neat structures. While this task may seem irreverent, it is essential for you to receive the rewards promised.
Thou Art But Dust…
Once you’ve accepted the monk’s task, enter the main building of the Monastery freely, where bone stacking begins. The room is scattered with bones that you need to collect and pile into designated areas. You will also encounter cleaning tasks that require you to sweep various spots.
As you work, you’ll notice a shortage of bones, prompting you to locate the crypt’s trapdoor in the room’s center. Inspecting it will lead you to a hidden area containing more scattered bones, not to mention the sarcophagus that holds Sir Valentine’s remains.
Make sure your carrying capacity is sufficient; you will need to transport a significant number of bones during this quest.
Uncovering Valentine’s Crypt

Upon discovering Sir Valentine’s sarcophagus, a brief inspection will reveal that the sword is missing. However, by examining the sarcophagus lid, you will notice an image depicting Sir Valentine alongside his renowned sword.
Though replicating the blade might seem daunting, skilled blacksmiths like Henry can memorize the crafting specifications from the image, allowing him to forge this iconic weapon at any nearby smithy.
Crafting Sir Valentine’s Blade

The quality of the blade is less significant than using the recipe titled ‘Sword of Sir Valentine’ to complete your task. The required materials for crafting this historical weapon include:
- Copper
- Straight Sword Guard
- Cow Skin
- Coin Sword Pommel
- Frankfurt Steel
- Scrap Metal
Most of these components can be sourced from various blacksmiths, bar the Cow Skin, which is typically obtained from a butcher’s shop. Once you gather these items, forge the sword and make your way back to the Humble Knight with the good news.
Returning to the Humble Knight
Upon returning and presenting the forged sword to the Knight, his pretense will crumble, revealing his true identity as a bandit. Faced with the potential exposure of his scheme, he will attempt to eliminate you.
Despite his armor, remember that he is singularly opposed to your formidable skills. Leverage your Master Strike ability and Mutt’s assistance to defeat him swiftly, culminating The Reliquary quest.
Victorious, you will be rewarded handsomely. Players can loot the bandit for valuable armor, collectible relics, and treasures that can yield upwards of 1, 000 Gloschen from the right buyers. Additionally, he holds a key that opens a chest at the camp containing 253 Gloschen and other valuable items. Plus, you retain the sword you forged, marking a triumph in your adventure.
