The captivating open-world RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, immerses players in a rich tapestry of quests filled with intricate storylines and diverse characters during the journey of Henry of Skalitz. This vast game universe is packed with excitement, though many elements are only available for a limited time, especially between pivotal plot points.
One critical mission involves exploring Trosky Castle, guided by the significant character, Chamberlain Ulrich. As players delve into the mysteries surrounding the castle, an intriguing question arises: Are there truly demons lurking within its walls? This guide is designed to facilitate your progress through the Demons of Trosky quest and ensure you succeed in your endeavors.
Initiating the Quest

Previously, we left our heroes at a tense moment where Sir Hans of Capon faced execution due to events instigated by Chamberlain Ulrich. Thankfully, just as all seemed lost, Otto von Bergow intervened, saving both Henry and Hans from their fates.
Now, as you navigate the complexities of Ulrich’s favor—or lack thereof—your next steps within Trosky Castle hold potential for unraveling peculiar disturbances affecting the environment. To embark on this quest, ensure that you have completed Main Quest 6: For Whom the Bell Tolls. Note, this quest must be completed before Main Quest 8: Necessary Evil, requiring full access to Trosky Castle. Be wary, as a key area—the Maiden side tower—will become permanently locked if you move past this stage.
Engage Chamberlain Ulrich by asking, “Is there anything I can do to help around the castle?” He will describe his eerie suspicions about the existence of demons in specific areas of Trosky Castle. Agreeing to assist him grants you special access to various locations, along with a list of individuals within the castle who might provide further insight into the castle’s strange happenings.
Upon deciding on your approach to this ethereal challenge, Ulrich will allow you to choose between Holy Water or Magic Water as a means to confront these spectral threats; your choice will not affect the outcome of the quest. For the purposes of this guide, we’ll commence our investigations with the castle’s cook, Manyeta.
Investigating Crone’s Side Devils

Located in the eastern kitchen, Manyeta describes a sinister force she believes is hampering her culinary skills by hiding her spices and tampering with her soups. She tasks you with pouring your chosen water at the various fireplaces located in the Crone’s side of the castle.
Your first task is to identify five fireplaces. Ascend the stairs above the bathhouse into the kitchen, where you’ll find your initial hearth to the right of the stove. Interact with it to create a barrier of depuration.

Next, proceed through the door leading to the dining room on the second floor. The second fireplace awaits between the windows on the left side.

Continue your journey through the next set of stairs to reach the Scribe’s room; upon entering, the third fireplace will be located to your right.

After climbing another three flights, you’ll discover another dining room housing the fourth fireplace.

Finally, at the top of the structure, you’ll come across the final fireplace situated in the bedroom area.

Delving into Maiden’s Side Devils

Bertha’s location varies throughout the day, as she can be found either in the kitchen or resting outside near the blacksmith’s area. Upon inquiry regarding the castle’s eerie happenings, she recounts clawing sounds on the roof and burnt marks discovered indoors.
Bertha instructs you to pour water at numerous fireplaces on the Maiden’s side of the castle, reflecting the approach taken with Manyeta. Start by going through the lower door to the opposite kitchen to uncover a fireplace beside the stove.

Ascending further into the castle, you’ll come across the storage room, where the second fireplace resides above.

Even though some fireplaces may appear unlit, do not be deterred—you can still interact and pour your infused water. Just outside the previous room, the third fireplace awaits.

Climbing another two flights reveals a long room featuring the fourth fireplace.

Lastly, find the fifth and final fireplace located in the adjacent room next to the previous hearth.

Unraveling the Blacksmith’s Devils

The local blacksmith, Osina, can often be found engaged in various activities around the castle, from his smithing duties to playful dice games outdoors. When you inform him about the Chamberlain’s concerns regarding the demon issue, he expresses his fear about exploring dark corners of the castle himself and encourages you to inspect these areas.
Your first destination should be the guardhouse located west of the combat arena. Here, within the dark basement, you’ll encounter the castle’s lavatory, where you must investigate the toilet openings to further the quest.

After reporting back to Osina, he will next direct you to search the tower situated on the Maiden’s side. Ascend to the second floor only to discover yet another toilet.

Despite the evident jest being played on you, return to Osina once more, and he will finally reveal that the last lavatory can be found in the Tower on the Crone’s side of the castle.

Upon completing your quest, re-engage with Chamberlain Ulrich to inform him of your efforts and the residents you’ve aided.
You may choose to express your irritation over the prank or simply reflect on your satisfaction in resolving the supernatural mystery. Depending on your interactions, your reward includes:
- Survival XP
- Vitality XP
- 55 groschen
- 1 Golden Cup
- 1 Golden Chalice
