Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 grants players unparalleled freedom in tackling challenges, allowing protagonist Henry to engage with guards and NPCs in various innovative ways. Whether he chooses to bribe, distract, fight, or stealthily incapacitate, the choice is his. Stealth options, particularly stealth takedowns and kills, enable Henry to eliminate threats without raising alarms. Below is a guide on how to efficiently execute these stealth maneuvers.
Mastering Stealth Takedowns in KCD 2

Stealth takedowns enable Henry to silently approach and choke out unsuspecting NPCs, providing a less violent alternative to confronting guards or distracting townsfolk. Follow these steps to perform stealth takedowns efficiently:
- Press the crouch key (C) to enter stealth mode.
- Move behind your target, ensuring you remain out of sight from any nearby characters.
- Creep towards the NPC until the prompt ‘Knock Out’ appears in the bottom right corner.
- Hit the designated key (F) to secure the NPC in a chokehold.
- Wait for a blue sword icon to appear, then press the attack button (left mouse) to execute the knockout punch.
- If the initial attempt is unsuccessful, the NPC may try to escape, prompting a shield icon on the screen. Press the block/parry button (right mouse) to prevent their escape.
- After a successful takedown, drag the body to a hidden location to avoid detection.
Bear in mind that NPCs who experience a takedown may remember Henry if they encounter him again, leading to potential attacks or reporting to guards.

If you’re uncertain about how to pull off a stealth takedown, you can complete a stealth takedown tutorial early in the game. Visit Lower Semine, located southwest of Troskowitz, to find Miller Kreyzl. By accepting his quest, you’ll receive training in the ‘art of thievery’, covering essential skills such as lockpicking, pickpocketing, and stealth takedowns. Speak to Hensel, the Miller’s assistant, who will allow you to practice without limits, earning Stealth skill experience with each successful attempt.
To be effective in stealth, consider investing in Stealth perks and wear clothing that minimizes your visibility.
Executing Stealth Kills in KCD 2

Stealth kills share the same mechanics as stealth takedowns, with the main difference being that these actions result in the target’s death rather than incapacitation. To perform a stealth kill, ensure Henry is equipped with a dagger:
- Obtain a free dagger located next to the lockpick training chest in Miller Kreyzl’s shack, or purchase one from Blacksmith Radovan in Tachov, north of Troskowitz.
- Add the dagger to your inventory and equip it by placing it into the highlighted gear slot.
- Approach your target with the dagger equipped, and look for the ‘Stealth Kill’ prompt.
- Press the appropriate key (F) to execute the kill.
Are Stealth Kills Worth It?
When considering stealth kills, weigh the benefits against the risks:
On the positive side, eliminating a target means they cannot report your actions. As long as you remain undetected, Henry will evade any blame. This makes stealth kills a safer option in terms of avoiding complications later on.
However, the drawback is significant. Engaging in a murder is a far graver offense than simply knocking someone out. Thus, if you’re caught or accused of the crime, the consequences can be severe, possibly leading to a harsher punishment, including execution.
If you choose the Scout playstyle at the beginning of KCD 2, it may facilitate stealth kills and takedowns in the early gameplay.
