Life in medieval Bohemia poses many challenges, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 immerses players in the daily tribulations of its populace through various side quests. One noteworthy mission, titled Feast for the Poor, embarks players on an unexpectedly charitable quest that involves more than just distributing food.
Engaging in side quests throughout KCD2 not only provides players with numerous rewards but also unravels engaging surprises. The Feast for the Poor quest marks the start of an intriguing series of missions set in the town of Kuttenberg. This guide outlines the essential steps and strategies to navigate this mission effectively.
Kickstarting Feast for the Poor in KCD2
To initiate the quest, return to Chenyek after you have completed the Into the Underworld quest. Engage him in conversation to accept the Feast for the Poor mission, which requires you to pilfer sausages from Sigismund’s supply and distribute them among the needy in Kuttenberg. Chenyek can be found at The Hole tavern, situated on the city’s southeastern edge.
During your conversation, Chenyek will pose some questions; don’t worry if your responses are incorrect. The key is to agree to share a drink and join his guild afterward.
Acquiring the Sausages and Consulting Knuckles
As you exit the tavern, you’ll encounter Knuckles at the crossroads, who presents an optional challenge: to steal some wine from Sigismund’s storehouse. Should you accept, he will provide you with lockpicks and potions, specifically a Weak Quickfinger and a Weak Nighthawk potion, which can be invaluable later.
This mission emphasizes stealth rather than combat, so it may be wise to don a more inconspicuous outfit. Proceed south from The Hole until you reach the designated quest area, where a guarded compound with tents awaits. Here, look for a back entrance—guards intermittently leave this area, providing an opportunity for entry.
Locating the Wine and Sausages
The sausages are stowed away in a chest inside the large green tent at the eastern end of the camp, while the wine can be found behind the wagon shed situated at the camp’s center. As you approach, be aware of patrolling guards who may obstruct your path. To distract them, consider throwing stones.
Both chests are secured with tough locks, so unless your lockpicking abilities are highly proficient, you may need to procure keys through pickpocketing or disable guards to access them. For a humorous twist, you may opt to swap out the sausages with cabbages, much to Chenyek’s amusement.
Distributing the Sausages
Once the sausages are securely in your possession, traverse through Kuttenberg to hand them out to beggars located throughout the streets. You’ll typically find many around churches and city gates. While it’s not mandatory to distribute all the sausages, you can share up to five with each beggar you encounter.
Regarding the wine, you have several options: sell it to Knuckles, find another buyer, or keep it for personal consumption. Just remember that any items you’ve taken from the camp are marked as stolen. To avoid complications, you might want to wait for some time or sell them to a fence. If you give the wine to Knuckles, don’t forget to inquire about a reward—he’ll hand over 100 Groschen for your trouble.
