Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Guide – Effective Remedies for Food Poisoning

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 resumes the immersive tale of Henry, a blacksmith’s son navigating the tumultuous landscape of 15th-century Bohemia. Renowned for its commitment to realism, the game makes every decision impactful. Unlike conventional RPGs, where food consumption lacks dire consequences, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 introduces a gripping system of food spoilage and poisoning.

Similar to weapons and gear, the food in this game deteriorates over time. Consuming spoiled items can lead to food poisoning, which poses serious challenges for Henry’s journey. Below, we will explore effective remedies for food poisoning within the game.

Curing Food Poisoning in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Cure Food Poisoning

Food poisoning can strike when you consume food with a freshness rating below 50. In the game, this is visually represented by an orange hue, eventually shifting to red, which signals that eating it can have severe repercussions. A minor amount of spoiled food might only result in temporary poisoning that can be alleviated by resting in a bed. This temporary setback allows players to wait until their character’s health is restored fully.

Conversely, severe poisoning will hinder your ability to sleep or pass time, and a notification stating “You’re too badly hurt, you need treatment“will appear. To identify severe poisoning, keep an eye on the health bar’s right side, where a skull icon appears alongside eating utensils. If resting fails to remedy your condition, additional treatment is essential, and this is where Digestive Potions come into play.

Failing to address food poisoning in a timely manner will lead to gradual health deterioration and could potentially result in death.

Reduces Nourishment by 20, cures food poisoning, and boosts Vitality by 1 for a duration of 10 minutes.

There are two primary methods to obtain Digestive Potions. The easiest way is purchasing them from merchants, specifically Apothecaries. The first Apothecary you’ll encounter is Emmerich in Troskowitz, who sells the potion at a cost of 21.5 Groschen. It’s advisable to stock up if you have additional funds.

Apothecary Location

If purchasing isn’t an option due to budget constraints, you can craft the potion yourself. Although the recipe is priced at 215.5 Groschen, it’s not mandatory to buy it for potion creation.

Crafting Ingredients

To create the potion, gather the necessary ingredients:

  • Thistle – Found in fields near Apothecary Emmerich.
  • Nettle – Available for purchase from Aranka at the Nomad’s Camp.
  • Charcoal – Can also be bought from either Apothecary Emmerich or Aranka.
Potion Crafting Process

After gathering the required materials, follow these steps to brew the potion:

  1. Add Water to the cauldron.
  2. Introduce Thistle and boil for two hourglasses.
  3. Take Nettle, grind it using a Pestle, and add it to the cauldron.
  4. Boil for one hourglass.
  5. Grind Charcoal and incorporate it into the cauldron.
  6. Finally, take a Phial and pour the potion into it.

By meticulously following these instructions, you’ll successfully create a Digestive Potion to help Henry overcome his food poisoning.
