All’s Fair… is an intricate side-quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 that challenges players to engage their cunning and stealth to aid a poor villager in winning the heart of his beloved. The mission revolves around preventing a village lout from marrying the woman who truly desires another.
For players struggling to navigate this quest, this guide offers a comprehensive overview, detailing the essential items to acquire and the various potential outcomes. Let’s dive right into the starting point of this captivating side-quest.
Beginning Your Journey: Where to Start All’s Fair in KCD2

To initiate the quest, players must travel to Wysoka, located in the southwest corner of Kuttenberg. Here, they will need to speak with Hired Hand Pavel, who is in distress over his affection for Ursula. The hitch in Pavel’s romantic aspirations is that Ursula is already promised to the village’s undesirable suitor, Pivetz. With limited time to prove his worth, Pavel enlists Henry’s help to sabotage this engagement.
This mission necessitates a fair amount of stealth, as it involves thievery. Players must exercise caution to avoid detection, as getting caught will lead to a mission failure. Pavel provides Henry with a key to the Vejmola house, bypassing the need for a Lockpicking mini-game. Equip Henry with a black outfit, some Quickfinger Potions, Lockpicks, and Saviour Schnapps for the escapade ahead.
Successfully Completing All’s Fair in KCD2

To successfully finish the All’s Fair quest, players need to steal four specific items and recover a fifth one from a magpie’s nest. To execute this plan, players must wait until midnight, away from the prying eyes of guards. The required items include:
- Ursula’s Mom Rosary
- Bohuska’s Ring
- Father Anthony’s Alchemy Book
- Cobbler Vejmola’s Boots
- Vejmola’s Lost Medallion
Recovering Vejmola’s Lost Medallion

Begin your quest by obtaining Vejmola’s Medallion. Head to the location marked for Bohuska’s Ring and search the yard for a bird’s nest. Use stealth to throw a stone at the nest to retrieve the medallion. It’s advisable to collect the medallion during the day and wait for night to steal the Bohuska’s Ring, which is conveniently located beside the tree with the magpie’s nest.
Finding Bohuska’s Ring

Upon reaching Bohuska’s residence, instead of immediately searching for the ring or attempting to pickpocket Bohuska, focus on the table to the right of the entrance, where freshly baked pies and Poppy Seed Kolach can be found. While Bohuska sleeps, listen carefully as she mutters about losing her ring while baking.
Take the Poppy Seed Kolach and start eating it until a save point is triggered—this indicates that the ring has been unearthed from the pastry. Not the epic robbery one would envision, but it suffices to complete the objective.
Stealing Father Anthony’s Book

Your next target is to swipe Wysoka Priest’s Alchemy Book from Father Anthony’s home. Be cautious—guard dogs patrol the area. To increase your chances of success, consume an Aesop Potion before attempting to enter. Additionally, if you possess a high Houndmaster skill level, the Dog’s Best Friend perk will help prevent the dogs from alerting the guards.
Stealing the Cobbler’s Boots

This task is relatively straightforward. Use the key provided by Pavel to enter the cobbler’s residence, turn right, and open the door to find the Fine boots of Cobbler Vejmola situated against the wall. Simply pick them up and make your exit.
It’s crucial to close the door behind you when leaving, as a patrolling guard may notice the open door and alert the residents, putting the entire operation in jeopardy.
Acquiring Ursula’s Mother Rosary

To obtain Ursula’s Mother Rosary, break into the designated house. Inside, locate her peacefully sleeping mother and pickpocket her to secure the Chest and Door keys. Then, on the opposite side of the bed, uncover a chest reminiscent of those found in taverns and resting points. Open it and retrieve the coveted Gemstone Rosary.
Now that players have gathered all five items, it’s time to return to Pavel and prepare for one of the quest’s four potential outcomes.
Deciding Pavel’s Fate: Return Stolen Items or Pay for His Apprenticeship?

To conclude the All’s Fair quest, players must approach Pavel again. During this conversation, players will notice Pavel’s change of heart; he no longer intends to use the items as previously planned. Through a challenging dialogue option, he admits his intention to sell the stolen goods and abandon Ursula altogether.
At this juncture, players face two choices: either hand over the items to Pavel or offer him 1000 Groschen for his apprenticeship to steer him away from a life of crime (a path Henry already finds himself on).
Alternatively, players may choose to abandon Pavel and keep the goods and cash, a less favorable outcome that risks failing the quest. Players could also decide to inform Pivetz about Pavel’s misdeeds, which similarly leads to a negative outcome.
Opting to pay 1000 Groschen and then ensuring the stolen items are returned to their rightful owners appears to be the wisest decision. Pavel will then guide Henry back to Father Anthony to return the items.
Along this journey, players will gain considerable Strength Experience and Unarmed Skill Experience, complemented by Agility Experience and the thievery skills accumulated throughout. Before returning the items to Father Anthony, don’t forget to read the Wysoka Priest’s Alchemy Book to earn an extra Alchemy level.
Moreover, by returning the stolen items to the priest in a virtuous manner, players will receive additional Scholarship Experience and gain access to Father Anthony as a Journeyman Alchemy and Scholarship Skill Trainer. This offers the most rewarding conclusion to the quest, maximizing the benefits along the way.
