In the year 1403, the ability to write was quite rare. Therefore, when a group of miners seeks to address a grievance with their employer in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, they turn to Henry of Skalitz, a character educated in the previous installment. What may appear to be a simple request rapidly descends into a world of crime and deception.
Your choices during this quest have a profound impact on the rewards you receive and the fate of others involved, making it one of the most dynamic quests within the game. If you’re eager to explore your options and maximize your potential outcomes while engaged in the Post Scriptum quest, this comprehensive walkthrough has everything you need.
How to Initiate Post Script

To kick off this quest, you must first complete the main storyline mission, Into the Underworld. Afterward, proceed to an inn located beyond the western gate of Kuttenberg to meet a man named Kvyertsolav.
Kvyertsolav’s friends require assistance drafting a letter to their employer, but due to their illiteracy, they seek Henry’s help. Unfortunately, Kvyertsolav does not possess any writing materials, and he appears wary of being overheard.
Instead, he instructs you to rendezvous with his friends at a residence north of town and, upon arrival, to provide the password: “Justice is worth more than silver.”This setup appears suspicious, but it’s advisable to accept the terms and proceed as directed. Be aware that this quest involves several challenging speech and scholarship checks; failing in these areas could significantly restrict your options throughout the mission.
Encountering the Miners

Upon entering the miners’ hideout, you’ll meet two individuals who request that Henry compose their letter. You can choose to write it word-for-word as they dictate or exercise your own judgment in phrasing. Altering the wording does not significantly influence the quest’s outcome, but the miners’ identities as wanted men soon become evident.

You will learn that Markold, the shaft owner, has captured some of their colleagues, and the miners are attempting to negotiate for their release. Regardless of how you write the letter, the miners will eventually decide to eliminate you in order to conceal their activities. This moment serves as your first significant decision in the quest.
Defeating the miners can cause Henry to be branded a murderer in Kuttenberg; therefore, it’s recommended to save your game beforehand, just in case you need to backtrack.
Optional Ending 1: Defeat the Miners

If you prefer a quick resolution or are unable to dissuade them, a confrontation is inevitable. You can loot their remains for minor treasures, consider the quest completed, and move forward in your adventure.
Delivering the Miners’ Letter

Should you convince the miners to back off, another choice awaits you: either deliver their letter to Markold or, knowing their criminal backgrounds, report them to the local Bailiff.
Optional Ending 2: Law-Abiding Citizen

The Bailiff can be easily located by following the map marker. Upon arrival, Henry presents the letter, alerts the authorities to the miners’ hideout, and leaves the situation in their capable hands.
In return for his integrity, the Bailiff rewards Henry with a 100-groschen tip, a respectable sum for merely writing a letter, although the quest holds the potential for greater rewards.

If you opt to deliver the letter to the shaft owner instead, follow the quest marker to his residence. You may need to employ your conversation skills to bypass Markold’s bodyguard, though this does not necessarily require advanced persuasion tactics or bribes. Upon confronting Markold, you will face yet another decision: assist him, blackmail him, or simply deliver the letter as it stands and continue with the miners’ plans.
Optional Ending 3: Blackmailing Markold

As Markold operates in questionable circles, blackmailing him post-letter delivery is an option. However, this requires a challenging speech check. If successful, you stand to gain some local reputation and 60 groschen. Although this route wraps up the quest, the financial reward is the least advantageous compared to other possibilities.
Optional Ending 4: Kill Markold Early

Henry also has the option to eliminate Markold during or after their meeting, returning to notify the miners of his demise. This action typically results in an unfavorable outcome for your relationship with the miners, culminating in another violent encounter. You may earn slightly more from looting the bodies than from the blackmail option alone, but it remains a marginal increase.
The Meeting: Markold and the Miners

If both parties are still alive, Henry will be tasked with going to the Hloushetz Gate (marked on your map) to meet a couple of liberated miners. Be prepared to wait in one-hour increments until they arrive, as they may not appear immediately.
Speaking to them will yield a minor reputation increase and the opportunity to follow them back to their hideout, setting up the culminating events of the quest.
Final Ending: Choose Between Markold and the Miners

As the quest reaches its climax, Markold will interrupt your meeting with the miners, arriving with a group of armed guards. If you side with Markold, you’ll receive a reward of 100 groschen for your allegiance, which, while greater than the payoff from blackmailing, is still less than what you could achieve by helping the miners.

Conversely, siding with the miners will earn you 225 groschen, a superior reward. Additionally, you gain the chance to loot Markold and his henchmen, with Markold’s armor alone valued at over 5000 groschen. Therefore, collaborating with the miners can yield the most lucrative outcome in Post Scriptum.
