Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Complete Walkthrough for the For Victory! Quest

In the main quest titled For Victory! in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, protagonists Henry and Hans collaborate with Lord Von Bergow’s troops to launch an offensive against the bandit camp at Nebakov. This mission promises a formidable challenge, making preparation essential for success.

The objectives of For Victory! revolve around equipping for the battle at Nebakov and completing a series of tasks for Capon. Some of these tasks may present confusion, depending on the player’s approach.

Preparation for the Nebakov Raid

The quest kicks off with Hans, Henry, and Lord Von Bergow strategizing for the raid on Nebakov. Following this dialogue, players are tasked with acquiring wine and armor for Capon to optimize their chances in the impending fight.

Acquiring Wine for Capon

Initially, Henry is supposed to collect wine from Katherine; however, she is missing. Instead, players should approach Cook Manyeta in the main kitchen located just below the dining hall. Manyeta will inform you of a broken herb chest and can enlist your help in repairing it.

The herb chest can be found at the rear of the kitchen against the wall. Players can attempt to repair it via a lockpicking minigame, and whether successful or not, they must return to Manyeta to provide an update. Note that passing the minigame is not a prerequisite for obtaining the wine.

Once you’ve reported back that you attempted the repair, Manyeta will hand over the wine for Capon. The next step is to secure some reliable armor for him.

Securing Gear for Capon

To acquire the necessary armor and sword for Capon, players should visit the Blacksmith at the castle forge. If he isn’t available, consider resting until morning. Since resting is an objective, it’s efficient to accomplish this concurrently.

Upon interacting with the Blacksmith, he will claim he lacks suitable gear for Capon. However, it is crucial to challenge this assertion through dialogue options.

Utilizing the Intimidation dialogue choice is advisable to compel him to hand over the appropriate equipment. Should the Intimidation attempt fail, it may lead to a fistfight, which is easily resolvable with a few well-placed hits.Victorious, he will provide the gear for Hans.

If you opt for a more diplomatic approach, acquiring the gear may require extra effort, as you’ll have to forge the equipment yourself—an unnecessary step if you use Intimidation. Once you have the gear for Hans, approach him at his horse to complete the handover and prepare for the raid on Nebakov.

Ambushed Near Nebakov

As the group rides toward Nebakov, they will be ambushed by enemy soldiers hidden in the woods. Players must battle through waves of enemies while closely following Hans along a winding path leading to Nebakov.

It is vital to remain near Hans during this confrontation. Engage enemies efficiently as they emerge and keep pace with Hans as he progresses through the area.

While pursuing Hans, seize the opportunity to loot fallen enemies for valuable armor and Gloschen, enriching your resources.

At one point, players must protect Hans as he attempts to rescue the Chamberlain from being pinned beneath a horse. Enemy archers will attack from elevated positions, prompting players to ascend the nearby hill to eliminate the threat. Sadly, the Chamberlain meets a grim fate during this endeavor.

Once this encounter concludes, players should move past this tragic event and continue assisting Hans on the path to Nebakov. Eventually, you will encounter an obstacle, prompting Hans to instruct you to search for an alternate route. Fortunately, a small gap in the trees provides passage, and Hans will follow you through successfully.

Upon arrival, a cutscene unfolds as the captain of the enemy troops challenges Henry to a duel, marking the final task of this quest: defeating the captain.

Confronting the Captain of Nebakov

Players who have honed their combat skills should find defeating the captain manageable. For those who struggle with combat mechanics, it’s crucial to master the most effective technique: the Master Strike.

A Master Strike is a counter-attack performed with a sword. To execute this technique, position your weapon to the opposite side of the captain’s sword. When he attacks and a green shield appears, instead of blocking, strike back.

Be aware that not all weapons are compatible with the Master Strike. If your weapon does not support this move, your approach should focus on blocking and looking for openings to counterattack. As the captain assaults, defend and then riposte when an opportunity arises.

Fortunately, the captain requires only a few hits to be defeated. Upon securing victory in the duel, a cutscene will play, concluding the For Victory! quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
