Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers players a dynamic experience where their choices lead to various quests and side activities. A notable subplot features Henry and his quest to locate Mutt, his loyal canine companion. Along the way, they will collaborate with a group of shepherds facing challenges due to a pack of troublesome wolves. If players have already completed the “Sheep Among Wolves” quest, they can then embark on the Lost Sheep side quest.
Tracking down the missing sheep proves to be a daunting task, as players must decipher environmental clues to locate a prized sheep in a wolf-infested forest. This guide aims to provide comprehensive assistance on the Lost Sheep quest, including specific locational tips for finding the sheep carcass and strategies for handling the wolves.
Initiating The Lost Sheep Quest

To commence the Lost Sheep Quest, players first need to locate Shepherd Smolyek, who can be found to the northwest of Zhelejov. Upon approaching the herd, you will find him on a hill near a tree, vigilantly watching over his sheep. A conversation with him reveals that a pack of wolves has been attacking his flock, and one of his employer’s favorite sheep has been missing for several days.
This sets Henry on a mission: he needs to track down the wolves responsible and bring back evidence of the sheep’s fate, specifically an ear bearing the shepherd’s mark.
Essential Tips for Completing the Lost Sheep Quest
Completing this quest can be challenging due to two main factors. First, the terrain is dense and difficult to navigate, filled with fallen trees and hills, not to mention the constant threat posed by lurking wolves.
Additionally, there are no clear markers indicating the sheep’s location. Instead, players must track the wolves, navigating through the environment and honing in on where the sheep may be situated. As shown in the accompanying video, it takes around 8 minutes to locate the wolves, which are often drawn out by the sounds of hunting animals, allowing you to hear their howls.
Utilizing the Houndmaster Perk: Heightened Scent can significantly expedite the search for wolves. This ability enables Mutt to detect enemies and wildlife from a much greater distance, enhancing tracking efficiency.
Before engaging, ensure you have items like Buck’s Blood and Painkiller Brew ready. Wolves tend to attack in packs, aiming to inflict injuries and weaken Henry. Managing bleeding is crucial, and by commanding Mutt to ‘Sic ‘Em, ’ players can isolate and dispatch enemies more effectively. Timing is vital; block wolf attacks when they leap at Henry to counter their pack tactics effectively.
The Lost Sheep is located just over a hill, slightly to the right of the quest marker. After successfully dealing with the wolves, players can butcher the sheep to retrieve the ear and return it to Smolyek for rewards. These incentives include the Lucky Dice, an essential tool for succeeding in bets and increasing Henry’s riches.
