The side quest Hush, My Darling is an intriguing narrative experience available in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This quest can be initiated by conversing with Martha at the Miskowitz tavern. Unlike many other quests, it emphasizes storytelling rather than material rewards, offering players only a hidden achievement without any additional groschen or experience points.
Be mindful that this quest has a time constraint; players must act quickly to complete it, as failing to do so may result in being unable to find several possible endings.
Additionally, players should note that Hush, My Darling addresses mature themes, and discretion is advised when engaging with its narrative.
Initiating Hush, My Darling
To kick off this quest, approach either the Innkeeper or Butcher in Miskowitz. Both characters will direct you to Martha, the Blacksmith’s wife.
Her residence is located just east of the pond, adjacent to the stalls of the grocer, baker, and tailor. Look for the first house situated on the northern side of the road that runs along the creek.

You can find Martha inside her home attending to an injured farmboy or near the gate of her husband’s smithy. If you’re simultaneously progressing through The Devil’s Pack quest, speaking with her will trigger that storyline; otherwise, you’ll begin Hush, My Darling.
Don’t forget to craft or acquire a Digestive Brew from Herbwoman Vlasta before leaving Miskowitz, as you will need it for later tasks.
A Simple Request

Martha will ask you to forge two sets of horseshoes. If you successfully navigate a difficult speech check with her husband, he will provide the materials at no cost. Otherwise, ensure you possess the blueprint and gather two pieces of scrap metal for each horseshoe.
You are free to use the forge at the smithy without interference, but make sure the two horseshoes are identical; Martha will refuse them if they don’t match.
Upon delivering the finished horseshoes, she will reward Henry with 60 groschen and ask you to deliver them to a woman named Victoria, who lives across the stream to the south.
Unfolding Complications

Upon arriving at Victoria’s house, you’ll find that she does not respond. You might consider breaking in to investigate.
Inside, you’ll discover a bloody pool beside her bed, indicating that the situation has taken a dark turn.

Return to Martha to share your findings; while she’ll be puzzled, passing a speech check may yield information revealing that Victoria had multiple admirers, including a farmer who harbored strong feelings for her.
Martha will also mention that Victoria previously delivered supplies to Sigismund’s war camp nearby.
(Optional) Engaging with Kuma

Kuma, a farmer who resides just north of the smithy, may be an envious suitor, but he holds no essential information for advancing your quest. You might feel compelled to confront him for his attitude (a choice I personally made), yet the true lead lies with Sigismund’s camp.
Be cautious when entering Sigismund’s war camp, as it initiates a hidden timer; take too long, and Victoria may be found deceased. Completing the Lost Honor quest or passing several medium-to-hard speech checks is essential for gaining access without hostility.
Sigismund’s War Camp

Sigismund’s camp is located northwest of Miskowitz. When you encounter the Blacksmith there, he’ll inform you that Victoria was often seen with a soldier named Black, currently residing in the large white tent to the south.
Black, suffering from a stomach ailment, will only speak with you after you provide him with the Digestive Potion you crafted earlier. Once he recovers, you’ll need to pass an easy skill check to extract information from him. Should you fail, wait two hours before attempting again.

During your conversation with Black, you’ll learn that he was oblivious to Victoria’s feelings for him. He fears she may have harmed herself, hinting at a location to the east where they used to rendezvous.
Should you wish to unlock the hidden achievement, refrain from persuading Black against this notion; simply accept his assertive message, no matter how unpleasant.
If you manage to convince Black to take responsibility for Victoria and her child, and you succeed in the speech check, he’ll agree to stay—even if his inclination towards her and the child is dubious.
Locating Victoria

Increase your volume and head east of the camp into the forest. You’ll know you’re close when you hear singing; follow the sound to find Victoria sitting at the base of a tree.
By passing a medium speech check, she’ll confess to being pregnant, revealing that Black is the father. The blood at her home was due to her suicide attempt following Black’s refusal, as she couldn’t envision living without him or raising the child on her own.
This moment branches the quest into several potential outcomes.
Outcomes of Hush, My Darling

Convince Victoria to go to the Devil’s Den
Henry can persuade Victoria to leave Black and raise her child elsewhere, with the Devil’s Den—a settlement located west of Kuttenberg—serving as a potential refuge far from the main story conflicts.
However, be warned that the town has a notorious reputation as a haven for outlaws, which might not be the most suitable environment for a single mother and her child. This route remains one of the more favorable resolutions for the quest.
If she decides to take this path, there’s a risk that she may be ambushed by Cumins or Bandits along the way, leading to her demise before she reaches safety.
Fail to Persuade Her to Leave
If you are unable to successfully pass the speech check, Victoria will return to Miskowitz but ultimately take her own life due to her despair.
Encouraging Black to Embrace Responsibility
Should you convince Black to assume responsibility for Victoria and their child, you can communicate this to her, making her immensely happy. Although not the most uplifting conclusion, it grants her and the child a fleeting chance at a stable life.
Achieving the Matchmaker Trophy

For those seeking a unique approach for a hidden achievement, a more confrontational method is available. Force the couple to meet, whether Black wishes it or not.
To execute this, change into stealthy clothes, remove your noisy armor, and incapacitate Black.Cautiously carry his unconscious body out of the camp and bring him to Victoria.
Utilizing stealth at night is advised, particularly when dressed in dark clothing.Ensure you hide the unconscious bodies to prevent alerting Sigismund’s patrols.

Successfully transporting Black without being detected may require eliminating guards quietly. Raising the alarm could result in the entire camp becoming hostile towards you.
Upon bringing Black to Victoria, he will awaken, see her, and flee in terror. The realization that she no longer needs him will prompt Victoria to decide to return home and raise her child independently. This method of completion grants Henry the Matchmaker Trophy.

Regardless of the choices made, Hush, My Darling ultimately offers minimal rewards to Henry. The only significant gain is the 60 groschen acquired from forging the horseshoes for Martha and any armor you might collect from guards during your escapade.
Whether Victoria survives, meets a tragic fate, or is faced with unfortunate circumstances, the quest concludes primarily with a journal update.
