Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is teeming with various side quests that offer players opportunities to acquire valuable Groschen and hone their skills. Completing either the “Frogs” or “Mice” quests—or both—unlocks the subsequent side quest titled “Battle of the Frogs and Mice.”
This side quest is associated with the Truce Trophy/Achievement. However, simply completing the quest is insufficient to earn the trophy; players must fulfill optional objectives and make specific dialogue choices. Below is an extensive guide to navigating the Battle of the Frogs and Mice quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Initiating the Battle of the Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To kick off this quest, head to either Olbram or Prochek and inquire if they need assistance. The NPC will inform you about an impending meeting at the pasture for a conflict. If you wish to earn the Truce Trophy/Achievement, select the dialogue options “Wouldn’t you rather make up?“and then “I’ll try to sort out the conflict first.“

Next, travel to Troskowitz and engage with Bailiff Thrush about the dispute involving Tachov and Zhelejov. Request him to act as a mediator, which will lead to a Speech check. Successfully passing this check rewards you with additional Reputation, followed by another check related to your knowledge of literature.
Translating the Latin Phrase

After your conversation with Bailiff Thrush, visit the Rathaus and interact with the green book on the lectern. In the book, you will come across a Latin phrase that unlocks an objective requiring you to find a Latin speaker. Speak to Scribe Gaibl and ask him for a translation of the phrase. Select the second dialogue option: “Fecit ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei, ”which will also designate a new location on your map.
Locating the Border Nail in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Next, fast travel to Tachov and venture westward across the open fields. Within the designated search zone, look for a tree situated near the marked area where you will discover an Old Nail embedded in it.

Important Note: If you are pursuing the Truce Trophy, do not extract the nail. Simply leave it in place and return to Troskowitz to report your findings to the Bailiff.
