Embarking on the early hours in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2) can be a daunting experience. Players find themselves thrown headfirst into a perilous world where even the most novice bandits pose a significant threat. As you strive to gather provisions, equip yourself with proper weapons, and hone your skills, you may feel the weight of the challenges ahead.
For those fortunate enough to have accessed the pre-order DLC, however, there’s a golden opportunity to ease your struggles with valuable armor. The Lion’s Crest DLC quest opens the door to uncover Brunswick’s Armor, previously dismissed by many as mere folklore. Yet, as the protagonist Henry demonstrates, this legendary armor is very much a reality.
Initiating the Lion’s Crest Quest

To kick off the Lion’s Crest DLC, players must first verify their access to this exclusive content, as it is only available to those who took advantage of pre-order bonuses. Currently, the quest cannot be purchased separately.
Once you possess the DLC, advance to the point in the game where Henry is freed from the stocks in Troskowitz, marking your return to freedom. Your next step will be to enter the Rathaus and seek out Scribe Gaibl.
Engage in conversation with him, selecting the dialogue option adorned with a purple crest. You will hear a captivating tale involving Lord Brunswick, complete with lions and dragons. Exhaust all dialogue options, and the quest will automatically be recorded in your journal, setting you on your quest for the first piece of the armor.
Preparation for Your Quest

Before venturing forth to complete the quest, ensure you are adequately equipped with essential items. Here are some preparatory steps to make your journey smoother:
- Acquire a Spade: You will need this tool to dig up pieces of armor. If you aided Bozhena in the tutorial, you should already possess one. If not, look for spades near cemeteries or from traders.
- Buy or Steal a Horse: Simplifying your travel can prove vital as you navigate the map.
- Obtain a Torch: Light can be your ally during the night.
- Secure a Good Weapon: Prepare for inevitable encounters with bandits.
- Find Mutt: Your faithful companion will assist you on this journey.
- Visit The Nomad’s Camp: Consider engaging in combat training there for additional benefits.
While not all of these steps are mandatory, they will greatly improve your chances of success. A little preparation now can spare you a lot of hassle later on.
Brunswick’s Armor Location #1
With your gear ready, your first destination is the forest behind Trosky Castle, where mischievous bandits lie in wait. Expect to encounter one heavily armored foe and another less formidable adversary. It’s wise to dispatch the weaker opponent swiftly before focusing on the stronger one. Mutt can provide considerable assistance, but you should be capable of defeating them solo.
After overcoming this duo, navigate off the path into the underbrush, where you will find a rocky alcove featuring a shrine, cross, and grave. Use your spade here to unearth Brunswick’s Dagger and Gauntlets, along with fragments of a holy text and the next map in your quest.
Brunswick’s Armor Location #2
Your next stop is located north of Tachov, nestled within the forest. To clarify, this site lies close to the bandit camp tied to the Lackey side quest. Avoid conflict by steering clear of that area if you prefer not to engage.
Head to the nearby Wolf Hunting Spot, where a pack of wolves awaits. These creatures can overwhelm you with numbers, so choose your positioning carefully to combat them effectively. Once you deal with the wolves, search the trees near their den, where a hidden sack contains Brunswick’s Coif, Caparison, and his coveted Leg Plates.
Brunswick’s Armor Location #3
Next, journey over to Vidlak Pond. From the closest fast-travel point, head into the forest and venture up a steep slope. Here, you’ll discover a cross and a series of log paths awaiting your daring traversal.
Exercise caution while crossing, as falling can result in severe injury. Once you navigate the logs, open the chest to discover Brunswick’s Plate Sleeves and a few bottles of Savior Schnapps, which are always a welcome find.
Brunswick’s Armor Location #4
Your penultimate leg of this quest takes you near Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn. Utilize the fast-travel option to reach this location and proceed toward the forest where Bozhena treated your wounds in the tutorial.
Following the provided map, you will encounter a familiar cross gravestone, but this section has an added layer. Within the cross, a container holds a Gemstone Ring, valuable for selling, though it is not the main objective of your search.
Instead, turn around and retrace your steps until you spot a skeleton with a sword leaning against a tree. Nearby, a sack will yield Brunswick’s Brigandine.
Brunswick’s Armor Location #5
You are nearly finished! The final location lies close to the Nomad’s Camp. Use that fast travel point and proceed eastward into the forest.
Eventually, you will arrive at a location marked as Treasure Hunter’s Spot. Prepare your sword, as treasure hunters are rarely generous with their loot.
Though they are generally weak, you will face a trio of them. Use Mutt’s Sic ability to help you manage the skirmish efficiently. Once you’ve secured victory, explore the area, focusing on their dig site first to find a valuable Golden Chalice.
Afterward, examine the nearby cairn to uncover Brunswick’s Bascinett, thus completing your coveted armor set and wrapping up the Lion’s Crest DLC quest.
