Marijuana Found in King Harris’ Vehicle by Dunwoody Police
As reported by WSB-TV, King Harris nearly collided with a Dunwoody police vehicle while departing from a gas station after noticing an officer. The police officer subsequently stopped Harris’ BMW.
Upon approaching the car, the officer detected the scent of marijuana. During their interaction, the officer observed that King was in possession of a firearm. Upon checking his background, they found an outstanding warrant against him.
The complaint detailed that the arresting officer instructed King Harris to exit the vehicle for further discussion. The officer opened the door and confiscated the firearm from him.
According to the report, the 20-year-old complied with the instructions without resistance, allowing the officer to proceed with the arrest:
“I then had Mr. Harris step out of the vehicle and I detained him by placing handcuffs on him. I escorted Mr. Harris to my patrol vehicle, conducted a pat down, and placed him in the rear seat of my vehicle.”
During the incident, it was noted that two other individuals were in the BMW, and upon their exit, officers discovered two small pouches containing less than an ounce of marijuana.
King Harris was subsequently processed at the DeKalb County Jail, while his companions now face charges related to marijuana possession. He was released the following day and transferred to Pickens County to address his earlier warrant.
This incident marks another confrontation for King Harris with law enforcement; he previously encountered legal troubles in August 2022 for DUI, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and speeding.
