The event, part of the 2024 Korea Drama Festival, utilized fan votes to determine the winners in six Popularity Award categories, with voting conducted through platforms like FlexOn and My One Pick.
Kim Soo-hyun received the prestigious Global Star Award for his outstanding performance in Queen of Tears, narrowly defeating Cha Eun-woo. Additionally, Byeon Woo-seok secured the Hot Star Award (Male) for his role in Lovely Runner, while Kim Ji-won earned the Hot Star Award (Female) for her exceptional work in Queen of Tears.

The 2024 Korea Drama Festival, the inaugural event of its kind in the country, is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Jinju City. The festival featured a variety of activities including forums, concerts, special lectures, and a short-form drama festival. Lee Sang-min and Oh Jung-yeon hosted the awards, with performances by Yuju and Berry Good as special guests. This year’s festival was hosted at the Jinju Gyeongnam Cultural Arts Center.
During the 15th Korea Drama Awards, Byeon Woo-seok earned the Hot Star Award (Male) for his portrayal of Ryu Sun-jae in Lovely Runner, further establishing his rising fame in the K-drama industry. Conversely, Kim Ji-won was celebrated with the Hot Star Award (Female) due to her impressive performance in Queen of Tears.
The coveted Best Couple Award at the 15th Korea Drama Awards was awarded to Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, who edged out Byun Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon. Additionally, Kim Tae-rae won the award for Best OST with I Couldn’t Wish for More, while Jae-chan (DKZ) took home the Hot Icon Award.
