Kim Jun-seo and Cha Sun-hyung to Star in Upcoming South Korean BL Series ‘Secret Relationship’
On November 8, the South Korean broadcasting sector unveiled the cast for the anticipated BL series titled Secret Relationship. As reported by OSEN, the lineup includes WEi’s Kim Jun-seo, Cha Sun-hyung, Cha Jung-woo, and Kim Ho-young. Notably, Jun-seo is a rapper who debuted with his K-pop group in 2020.
Cha Sun-hyung brings experience from other South Korean dramas, such as Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale and Mental Coach Jega. Kim Ho-young is recognized for his role in Branding in Seongsu, enhancing the series’ credibility with his seasoned presence. Based on a popular webtoon from Kakao Entertainment, Secret Relationship is set to capture the hearts of audiences.
This beloved webtoon has gained significant traction in six regions, including South Korea, the United States, and Japan. With over 170 million views on Korean Kakao Webtoon, the series has garnered a passionate fanbase eagerly awaiting its adaptation into a drama series.

The forthcoming drama revolves around a nuanced romance between two male colleagues, crafted by McQueen Studios. At its core, the story introduces three main characters: Da-on, Seung-hyeon, and Jae-min. Da-on is portrayed as an intelligent individual who diligently works to rise above his impoverished background.
Despite his current improved situation, remnants of his past persist, often creating tension between him and coworker Seung-hyeon. Their initially antagonistic relationship transforms significantly after a pivotal incident involving Da-on’s financially struggling parents, which draws him closer to Seung-hyeon.
As their bond deepens, Da-on finds himself caught between his emerging feelings for Seung-hyeon and his affection for his former instructor, Jae-min. The narrative unfolds as Da-on navigates these conflicting emotions, leading to a critical choice between wealth and the shadows of his former life. The series is slated for release in 2025.
In the adaptation, Kim Jun-seo is set to portray Da-on, while Cha Sun-hyung will take on the role of Seung-hyeon, and Kim Ho-young is expected to play Jae-min. The script for Secret Relationship comes from Jung Soo-yoon, known for his previous successful BL titles such as Boy’s Flight and Your Taste. He partners with Lee Yu-jin for this project.
Lee Yu-jin also has an impressive résumé, working on acclaimed BL series including When Your Temperature Reaches My Fingertips and Tractor Carries Love. The production team behind Secret Relationship has expressed their dedication to faithfully adapting the intricate emotional layers of the original webtoon while presenting a universal love story that resonates with a broad audience.
The creators aim to maintain the beloved characteristics of the BL genre, creating excitement among fans who eagerly anticipate the series’ debut.
