“Take your leave of crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, boldly go towards true midnight, in caverns cold your prize awaits. Pass through the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunter’s gaze, standing tall two guards of stone, behind whom yearned for treasure lays. Between them stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place to give one’s heart to God, behold my armor gleaming still.”

The poetic riddle hints at the location of Brunswick’s first treasure, which is relatively nearby. Make sure to equip yourself with a shovel before heading out!

Decoding Brunswick’s Riddle

The secret treasure cache lies north of Trosky Castle, nestled within a small chapel surrounded by rocky formations in the heart of the woods. The particular spot is indicated by the yellow circle on the map below.

When you arrive, you’ll need to navigate around to the northern-facing entry of the site. Inside, you will discover a small stone cross with an altar nearby. Interact with the cross to shift it and then dig in the soil to retrieve Brunswick’s treasure. You can expect to find two maps, Brunswick’s gauntlet and dagger, a skill book, and a bottle of wine.

Finding Brunswick’s First Map

The first map guides you northwest toward Tachov, where a rocky, forested area awaits.

This region is more perilous, as it is known to be infested with wolves. You will need to eliminate a few wolves to create a safe environment to search. Brunswick’s bag is concealed between two closely growing trees; it contains a coif, a leg plate, and a caparison for your horse, assuming you have one. Tracking Down Brunswick’s Second Map

Brunswick’s second map leads you to a location westward, specifically near Vidlak Pond.

The stone cross is situated on a small elevation just west of the pond. If you encounter difficulty locating it, commence your search from the fisherman’s house and head northward. This treasure trove offers plate sleeves, a complimentary Savior Schnapps potion to alleviate your belladonna farming requirements, along with some bandages.

Discovering Brunswick’s Third Map

Next, travel back south to Zhelejov, focusing on a secluded area north of Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn.

Be cautious, as this bandit camp is inhabited by aggressive treasure hunters who will attack on sight. Defeat them to safely explore the area. Look for the stone cross on the ground, which marks the spot where a rock pile is located. Interacting with it rewards you with Brunswick’s bacinet (the metal component of a knight’s helmet), a new die for crafting, and a worn rosary.
