KCD 2: How to Find Vidlak Bandit’s Map and Solve Its Location

Discovering the Vidlak Bandit’s Map in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 can be quite a challenge. However, it is significantly more straightforward than some of the RPG’s other maps, such as the treacherous Zhelejov Marshes map. To obtain this valuable artifact, players will need to either steal it from a bandit camp or engage in combat. Fortunately, the map itself contains a clue that can guide you to its location, making the effort worthwhile given the substantial treasure it leads to.

In this guide, we will detail how to locate the Vidlak Bandit’s Map and the subsequent steps to uncover the treasure, including a heads-up for when your initial findings may not be accurate.

How to Locate the Vidlak Bandit’s Map

The key to obtaining the Vidlak Bandit’s Map lies with a poacher at a camp, which can be discovered during the Lackey quest, an integral part of the storyline involving the search for Mutt. Alternatively, if you want to take a proactive approach, consider deviating from the main path shortly after regaining control of Henry.

This option can be particularly beneficial if you’re struggling to find food or gather sufficient funds for better equipment. To reach the bandit camp, head north of Tachov.

Having a horse will greatly expedite your journey. You can either acquire one legitimately by following our guide or “borrow”a horse from Troskowitz’s southern pastures, ensuring no witnesses are present.

After arriving at the bandit camp, we highly recommend waiting until after sunset to launch your stealthy approach. The camp is filled with bandits, and without quality weapons or armor, it will be a tough battle. By nightfall, you can sneak in without using your torch and incapacitate the bandits one by one. Make sure to loot them quickly, as a guard patrols the area and can wake them up.

If you approach from the east, you will find two bandits resting by an extinguished cookfire. The one on the right with facial hair is the key target—you will want to loot him for the map, as well as secure the bandit key, which is crucial for accessing the treasure that’s locked away.

Vidlak Bandit’s Map: Treasure Location and Insights

The Vidlak Bandit’s Map itself reveals a critical clue: it depicts a tree located at the northern end of a distinctive lake—a unique feature in the Trosky region. This lake is situated to the north of the Vidlak Pond settlement. Your objective is to locate the Hollow Tree point of interest, marked on the map.

Upon arrival, inspect the area surrounding the roots of the fallen trees to find items of worth, including a modest silver cup.

However, Henry will note that this cannot be the full treasure, which is correct. The treasure chest that once lay within the now-collapsed tree has been washed downstream. You will need to search in that area for the hidden chest.

Finding the chest can be tricky, especially during the night. Engage with the front of the chest and use the bandit key to unlock it. Inside, you will discover:

  • 300 groschen
  • 1 gold crucifix (valued at 1, 430 groschen)
  • 1 silver cup
  • 2 tin plates
