Katy Perry’s Record Label: Discover Unsub Records and Its Signed Artists

Katy Perry stands out as one of the most distinguished pop icons of today, boasting an impressive collection of awards including 13 Grammy nominations, four Guinness World Records, and nine #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to her music career, she is the founder of Unsub Records, a label dedicated to supporting new talent.

The label, initially named Metamorphosis Music, was first revealed in a 2012 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Katy expressed her vision for Unsub Records, stating:

“When this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’”

On June 17, 2014, Perry officially announced the launch of Metamorphosis Music as a subsidiary of Capitol Records via X. It was later rebranded to Unsub Records in 2016.
