How to uninstall apps on Amazon Fire TV Stick

Do you have unused and unwanted apps on your Amazon Fire TV Stick? If so, it’s easy to uninstall these apps and clean up your app library. You have two different ways to do this and we’ll show you how to use them.

Use the Applications menu to uninstall an application

Your Fire TV Stick has an “Apps” menu that allows you to quickly view and launch installed apps. You can also use this menu to uninstall your apps.

To get started, on your Fire TV Stick remote control, press and hold the Home button. Then select Applications from the menu that opens.

On the Your apps & games page, highlight the app you want to uninstall.

With your app highlighted, on your Fire TV Stick remote, press the Menu button (the button with three horizontal lines).

In the right pane, select “Delete” from the menu that opens.

Select “Delete” at the prompt.

That’s all. The app you selected has now been removed from your Fire TV Stick.

As space frees up on your device, you may want to get some new apps. Did you know that you can download apps not available in the AppStore after jailbreaking your Fire TV?

Uninstall app using settings

The Fire TV Stick settings section offers dozens of options to customize your device. One of them allows you to remove unnecessary applications from a flash drive in the form of a more compact list.

To use this option, on the Fire TV Stick’s home screen, select “Settings” (gear icon).

In Settings, select “Apps” to access installed apps.

From the Applications menu, select Manage Installed Applications.

Your installed applications will be displayed. Here, select the app you want to uninstall.

On the application page, select Delete.

In the prompt that opens, select “Delete”.

And the app you selected is now removed from your Fire TV Stick. Enjoy an uncluttered user interface!

If you want to free up storage space, consider clearing your Fire TV Stick’s cache as well. If you’re troubleshooting, consider updating your Fire TV device.
