
EXO’s Kai Set for Exciting Solo Comeback with “Wait on Me”
EXO’s Kai is poised to reemerge as a solo artist with his upcoming mini album titled “Wait on Me.” Scheduled for release on April 21 at 6 p.m. KST, this marks his first solo return in two years, following the successful launch of his previous album, Rover, in March 2023. The new project promises an engaging collection of seven tracks, highlighted by the title song “Wait on Me” along with the pre-released single, “Adult Swim.”
A Sneak Peek into “Adult Swim”
The pre-released track, “Adult Swim, ” has been characterized as an upbeat pop anthem, featuring an energetic drum loop. The lyrics cleverly draw parallels between profound emotions and the imagery of two individuals swimming fearlessly underwater, reflecting a sense of freedom and connection.
Anticipation Builds for the Comeback
This solo comeback follows Kai’s discharge from mandatory military service in February 2025. Since then, he has been actively preparing, which includes filming music videos and promoting his latest work. Pre-orders for “Wait on Me” began on March 31 across various online and offline music platforms, generating notable excitement among fans.

Upcoming Concert Tour: “KAION“
Following the album’s release, Kai will embark on a significant solo concert tour called 2025 KAI SOLO CONCERT TOUR <KAION>. The tour will begin with performances in Seoul on May 17 and 18, before extending to nine more cities across Asia, including Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Jakarta, Singapore, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Yokohama, and Hong Kong.

It’s important to note that while excitement grows for Kai’s solo endeavors, fellow EXO member D. O.has indicated that a full group comeback is currently unlikely for 2025 due to Sehun’s ongoing military service.
