Kade Ruotolo warns Izaak Michell not to make Tye emotional in their grappling war: “Anyone in the world is smoked”

Kade Ruotolo warns Izaak Michell not to make Tye emotional in their grappling war: “Anyone in the world is smoked”

Current ONE lightweight submission grappling champion Kade Ruotolo recently shared his perspective on his twin brother, Tye Ruotolo, and his upcoming match at ONE Fight Night 21. On April 5th, Tye will be defending his ONE welterweight submission grappling world title against the rising Australian BJJ sensation, Izaak Michell.

Tye Ruotolo, much like his brother Kade, is known as one of the most aggressive and attacking grapplers in the sport today, utilizing a predominantly offensive style. It is difficult for opponents to defend against their relentless attacks, leaving them constantly on the defensive.

Prior to ONE Fight Night 21, Kade Ruotolo offered some words of wisdom to Izaak Michell, his brother’s opponent in the upcoming event.

“Trying to punk Tye and be that physical guy to Tye is always the worst game plan. The last thing you want to do is get him emotional. Trying to punk him will get him emotional. If you get him emotional, good luck. Anyone in the world is smoked after that.”

As someone who has trained and sparred with Tye Ruotolo since he was three years old, I strongly urge you to take this advice to heart. Attempting to defeat someone as skilled as Tye Ruotolo could end up backfiring and leaving you feeling defeated.

Kade Ruotolo and Francisco Lo to square off in highly-anticipated catchweight matchup at ONE Fight Night 21

At ONE Fight Night 21, Kade Ruotolo will have the opportunity to compete alongside his brother Tye on the same night for the first time in years. While Tye defends his belt in the co-main event, Kade will step out of his weight class to take on Brazilian standout Francisco Lo in a 180-pound catchweight submission grappling match.

Lo is an up-and-coming star in the BJJ world, known for their strength and skill. They have also previously held the title of International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Pan champion.

Prior to their fight, Francisco shared some information about Kade Ruotolo.

“I think we have very similar styles because I also aggressively look for submissions. He is also aggressive, doesn’t like to tie up the fight, and is always looking for the submission.”

Existing Prime Video subscribers in North America will be able to watch ONE Fight Night 21 for free on US Primetime.
