Justin Timberlake Reschedules Newark Concert for the Postponed Forget Tomorrow World Tour
American musician Justin Timberlake has officially rescheduled his concert for the Forget Tomorrow World Tour in Newark, New Jersey, after an earlier postponement due to an injury. Initially planned for October 8, 2024, Timberlake promptly reassured his fans by revealing a new date just a few days later.
The 43-year-old artist has announced that the performance at the Prudential Center is now set for October 15, which is sooner than many fans had anticipated. Timberlake took to Instagram on October 10 to share the exciting news with his loyal supporters, expressing both his enthusiasm and regret about the earlier delay.
“New Jersey, I told you I’d make it up to you, and I meant it,”Timberlake stated. “We’re rescheduling the show for October 15. I’m so sorry that I had to postpone. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE Y’ALL!”
The decision to postpone caught many of Timberlake’s fans off guard, as they were looking forward to his show part of the Forget Tomorrow Tour. The singer of “Selfish”had to cancel the October 8 performance due to an undisclosed injury that rendered him unable to take the stage.
Although specific details about the injury remain undisclosed, Timberlake emphasized that postponing the concert was a difficult choice for him.
Justin Timberlake triumphs over personal struggles, resumes Forget Tomorrow tour
On the original concert date, Justin Timberlake reached out to his fans via Instagram, sharing a sincere apology for the postponement and elaborating that his injury necessitated a break.
“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show,”Timberlake expressed in his October 8 message. “I have an injury holding me back from performing. I’m really disappointed not to see all of you—but I’m working to reschedule ASAP.”
Despite the Newark concert being called off, Justin Timberlake continued with the other scheduled performances on his tour. The Forget Tomorrow Tour proceeded with shows including a performance at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on October 11 and another in Washington D.C.’s Capital One Arena on October 13.
Fans in these upcoming cities will hopefully have a chance to enjoy uninterrupted performances from Timberlake.
Reflecting on a tumultuous yet rewarding 2024
The year 2024 has presented both challenges and triumphs for Justin Timberlake. In May, the singer confronted legal issues following an arrest for driving under the influence (DWI). The situation concluded in September when Timberlake reached a plea agreement and paid a fine, thereby settling the misdemeanor charge.
Addressing the incident, Timberlake shared with reporters,
“This is a mistake I made. But I hope that whoever’s watching and listening can learn from this. I’ve certainly learned my lesson.”
Despite these setbacks, Timberlake’s steadfast fanbase and supportive family have stood by him. Earlier this month, he renewed his tour, kicking off in Montreal, Canada, on October 3—an occasion that coincided with his 12th wedding anniversary with wife Jessica Biel.
During the Montreal event, Justin Timberlake took a moment to honor his wife, who was in attendance, and celebrated their anniversary in a heartfelt way.
“It’s also a very special evening for me,”Timberlake told the audience. “My wife is here tonight. And tonight marks our 12-year anniversary.”
As a father of two, Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4, he expressed his affection for Jessica by blowing her a kiss and instructed the crowd to treat her well, saying,
“So be nice to her, Montreal, because she’s sharing me with all of you tonight.”He placed his hand on his chest and added, “I love you, baby.”
With the Newark performance now slated for October 15, fans are looking forward to Justin Timberlake’s much-anticipated return to the stage. As the Forget Tomorrow Tour progresses, Timberlake will continue to perform across various major North American cities. Despite the array of personal and professional challenges he has encountered this year, the singer remains committed to delivering memorable experiences for his audience.
