Jungkook’s ‘SEVEN’ Breaks Spotify Records as Most Streamed Song by an Asian Artist, Outpacing BTS’s ‘Dynamite’
On September 29, 2024, BTS member Jungkook made history when his debut solo single, SEVEN (feat. Latto), became the most streamed song by an Asian artist in Spotify’s history. The track has amassed over 1.934 billion streams (1,934,082,270), surpassing the previous record set by BTS’ hit from 2020, Dynamite, which holds over 1.933 billion streams (1,933,247,109).
As the youngest member of BTS, Jeon Jungkook is the first from his group to exceed the 1 billion streams milestone. His song SEVEN achieved this remarkable milestone in just three months after its release.
Released on July 14, 2023, SEVEN was reported by Yonhap News on October 31, 2023, as the fastest song by an Asian solo artist to hit this milestone.
Additionally, it surpassed Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, which achieved 1 billion streams in 112 days, making Jungkook the first global artist to reach this milestone in just 108 days in Spotify history. SEVEN also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, maintaining that position for seven consecutive weeks—a record for a K-pop soloist on the chart.
