Jonathan Di Bella continues to “practice the basics” ahead of his biggest fight against Prajanchai

Despite being the ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion, Jonathan Di Bella firmly believes in the importance of doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. In fact, it is this mindset that has helped the 27-year-old maintain an undefeated record against some of the world’s top strikers.

As Jonathan Di Bella prepares for what may be the biggest fight of his life this Friday, he emphasizes the importance of not forgetting the fundamentals.

The tactician, who is from Canada and of Italian descent, stated in an interview with the South China Morning Post:

“I’ve just been training like normal, doing what I normally do in training. Just keep on doing and practicing the basics and continue what I’ve always been doing. That’s it.”

Jonathan Di Bella will aim to defend his 26-pound gold in the second-to-last fight of ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II, as he takes on fellow world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai in the renowned Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The remarkable strawweight Muay Thai world champion will be transitioning to Di Bella’s realm in kickboxing as part of his quest for dual-sport dominance.

Despite the decorated Prajanchai being his most formidable challenger yet, Di Bella will not resort to extreme measures in his training. He firmly believes that focusing on the seemingly mundane fundamentals is the key to achieving greatness, as a native of Montreal.
