John Janssen Addresses Feud with Shannon from The Real Housewives of Orange County: “Masterful at Eliciting Sympathy”

The premiere of Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County (RHOC) took place on Bravo on July 11, 2024. This season highlights the extravagant lives of the affluent housewives from Orange County, showcasing their navigation through personal dilemmas and professional challenges, including their interpersonal conflicts.

In an exclusive interview with US Weekly on October 10, 2024, Alexis Bellino, a notable RHOC cast member, along with her partner John Janssen, shared details about their ongoing conflict with Shannon Beador. John expressed that both he and Alexis have faced significant backlash for their comments regarding Shannon.

“[Shannon is] adept at drawing sympathy she doesn’t merit. I’m aware this might provoke criticism, but it’s the truth,”he remarked.

Previously, John and Shannon had a romantic relationship that ended in late 2022. By November 2023, he began dating Alexis Bellino, who is also part of the RHOC ensemble. Shannon reacted negatively to this new relationship, voicing her feelings during Season 18 of the show.

During their conversation, John and Alexis revealed that since their dispute with Shannon began, they’ve encountered a wave of “overwhelming”negativity. The couple explained the challenges they face in managing the backlash directed at them.

“The hardest part is we’re stuck in this whirlwind of hate based on falsehoods,” they expressed.

Since John plays a minor role in RHOC, he mentioned that lacking a platform to defend himself has been quite challenging. He noted that Alexis often feels the burden to stand up for him, which unfortunately leads to her own criticism. He stated that this situation places her in a tough “no-win scenario.”

Alexis added that feeling unable to “win”in their situation with Shannon was frustrating. Nonetheless, she expressed relief that their feud is in the past and emphasized their excitement for their upcoming wedding ceremony.

Earlier in Season 18, Shannon was candid about her views on her ex John’s new relationship with Alexis. However, Alexis believed that Shannon was overstepping boundaries by persistently discussing her fiancé.

While chatting with fellow cast members Jennifer Pedranti, Tamra Judge, and Katie Ginella, Alexis mentioned she might “reveal”Shannon’s unreleased videos if the latter continued her behavior.

On the subject of these unreleased videos, John disclosed to Us Weekly that he possesses the footage and has no plans of sharing it with anyone.

“I have the videos, and I’ve never suggested I would share them. That was never an option,” he stated.

Alexis explained that filming typically lasts for 12 hours, so she thought she was discussing the videos in a private context with her fellow RHOC cast members. She admitted to not having many regrets about the situation, believing that “the truth is on our side.”
