On October 7, 2024, j-hope, the talented rapper-songwriter from BTS, shared a new countdown image on Weverse. Currently, he is fulfilling his military service, having enlisted on April 18, 2023, and is expected to be discharged on October 17, 2024. The recent photo featured a military backpack decorated with various cartoon pins, including one depicting himself in uniform.

The backpack was embellished with a balloon keychain, reminiscent of the BTS album cover for Young Forever, alongside a knitted keychain displaying his name ‘J-HOPE’ and a heart-shaped badge that read “You’re our hope.”In the caption, he included “D-10,”letting his fans know that he would return in just ten days.

In an entertaining twist, Kim Seok-jin, the eldest member of BTS, who completed his military service on June 12, 2024, commented on j-hope’s update. He remarked:

“Wow, I can’t believe he’s such a cheeky friend.”

This exchange delighted fans, who eagerly anticipated the reunion of the two members on October 17, 2024. One fan humorously noted on X:

“Roasting your friends is Jin’s love language!”

The BTS ARMY took to X to flood the platform with funny tweets regarding Jin’s comment. They reminisced about a Weverse live session where Jin, after attending Milan Fashion Week, joked about ‘kidnapping’ j-hope as soon as he exited the military camp.

“Talking as though he’s not already standing by the gates waiting to kidnap hobi,”a fan wrote.

“Does Jinnie think we forgot about what a menace he was like back in his time? He was the cheekiest menace of all time, teasing everyone about their enlistment with every ounce of eldest sibling energy he had,”another fan joked.

Many fans expressed their heightened enthusiasm for the reunion of the duo, affectionately referred to as “2Seok”by their supporters, as both members’ names share the syllable “seok.”

Jin began his military service on December 13, 2022, following the release of his debut solo single, “The Astronaut,”in collaboration with Coldplay on October 28, 2022. Upon his release on June 14, 2024, he was honored as one of the torchbearers for the 2024 Paris Olympics Torch Relay by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Additionally, he was appointed as the first-ever global ambassador for FRED on July 8, 2024, followed by his role as the global ambassador for Gucci in August.
