Jenna Dewan’s Divorce from Channing Tatum: Timeline and Steve Kazee’s Response to Tatum’s Breakup with Zoe Kravitz
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Steve Kazee, the fiancé of Jenna Dewan, stirred up some buzz on Instagram with a humorous post, coinciding with reports that Dewan’s ex-husband, Channing Tatum, has allegedly ended his relationship with Zoe Kravitz. Kazee’s Instagram Story featured a bold “HAHAHAHA” against a solid black backdrop.
Many followers quickly connected the dots between Kazee’s post and the news of Tatum’s breakup, suggesting that Kazee might be poking fun at Tatum’s romantic struggles. Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum tied the knot in 2009 but separated when Dewan filed for divorce in October 2018.
In light of the speculation surrounding his laughter, Steve Kazee clarified that his amusement was not directed at Jenna Dewan’s former spouse. He took to his Instagram Stories to clarify, stating:
“A guy can’t laugh about a houseplant TikTok in today’s world I see…”
The post in question referenced a previous TikTok video he had shared, displaying a wilting plant captioned: “The houseplant in my kitchen watching me put water in the coffee maker…”He later shared a screenshot of the same struggling plant, adding:
“See? It’s funny because it’s relatable. Get a life.”
The End of Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum’s Marriage
It was a classic case of love blossoming between co-stars, as Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum first met while filming the beloved 2006 movie, Step Up. Their romance flourished, culminating in an engagement in September 2008.
During their gorgeous Malibu wedding in July 2009, Dewan dazzled in a peach and ivory ball gown by Reem Acra, while Tatum chose a timeless black tuxedo. Following their wedding, the couple celebrated their honeymoon in Bali and welcomed their daughter, Everly, in May 2013. Their last public appearance together occurred in November 2017 at the premiere of War Dog: A Soldier’s Best Friend, shortly before announcing their divorce in April 2018.
The couple shared a joint statement to People on April 2, 2018, declaring their amicable separation. Dewan later filed for divorce in October, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of their daughter, a request Tatum echoed.
By November of the following year, they were declared legally single, just two months after Dewan revealed her pregnancy with her then-boyfriend, Steve Kazee. Kazee proposed in February 2020, just ahead of the birth of their son, Callum, and the couple is currently expecting their second child.
The divorce settlement between Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum was finalized on September 25, 2024. They mutually agreed to waive spousal support, thus averting a trial that was originally anticipated for December.
Meanwhile, Channing Tatum reportedly began dating Zoe Kravitz in 2021, but their relationship has come to an end after three years and amid Tatum’s involvement in Kravitz’s project, Blink Twice.
