Dragon’s Dogma 2 has introduced a crucial update aimed at resolving persistent issues that have impacted players’ experiences in this popular action RPG. Although this patch does not introduce major new features or additional content, Capcom’s commitment to refining the game is evident, even more than 10 months after its initial launch.
The previous update, released at the end of October 2024, laid the groundwork for enhanced graphical performance on the PlayStation 5 Pro. This update included improvements such as PlayStation’s Spectral Super Resolution compatibility and an intermediate gameplay mode balancing performance and graphics. Additionally, it addressed a critical issue where certain Pawns would be paralyzed, failing to execute actions after a failed attempt to use Levitate.
This latest patch, however, is specifically curated for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions, focusing on multiple bug fixes related to Pawns. Key adjustments include a rectification that stops Pawns from mistakenly guiding players to previously activated riftstones when there is an open support Pawn slot. Moreover, the update ensures that Pawns will no longer deliver dialogue inconsistent with their specialization and resolves an issue preventing other players’ Pawns from appearing during high-level gameplay, particularly for characters exceeding level 998.

In addition, the January update rectifies a previously persistent problem concerning enemy respawn rates, which had caused players to face situations where monsters would cease to appear without a game restart. This patch ensures a smoother gameplay experience by guaranteeing that NPCs and monsters accurately reflect their resistance to various status anomalies.
While this update focuses primarily on bug fixes, a segment of the player community remains enthusiastic about receiving further content. Excitingly, revelations from datamining efforts carried out in November hinted at potential upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for Dragon’s Dogma 2, including the possibility of a multiplayer game mode.
