Released on January 2, 2025, the sixth episode of Creature Commandos continues to follow the narrative of Amanda Waller’s team of meta-humans known as “Task Force M,”under the leadership of Rick Flag Sr. This animated series has garnered attention for its appearances of various DC characters, including Clayface, Gorilla Grodd, Wonder Woman, Flash, and even fan-favorite Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. With the season finale set to premiere on January 9, viewers can anticipate the introduction of the DCU’s inaugural post-credits scene. Notably, a second season has already been confirmed.
James Gunn’s Unexpected Reaction to Batman’s Involvement
The sixth episode, titled “Priyatel Skelet,” delves into the tragic narrative surrounding Dr. Phosphorus, a member of Task Force M. Near the episode’s conclusion, audiences catch a fleeting glimpse of Batman’s silhouette atop a club in Gotham as Phosphorus and his henchmen celebrate indoors, just as a sudden blackout occurs. In an exclusive interview with Rotten Tomatoes on YouTube, James Gunn disclosed that his original vision for the Batman scene was significantly more elaborate, yet he felt unprepared for such an extensive commitment.
“When we first saw it, there was a LOT more Batman,” Gunn commented. “And I kept thinking, ‘I am not ready to commit to that. I’m not ready to commit to that.’ So, I insisted on having just ‘more silhouette, more silhouette.’”

Gunn elaborated on how Batman’s cameo serves as a powerful way to establish his presence in the universe without rehashing an origin story, a strategy mirrored in the upcoming Superman film featuring David Corenswet and other superheroes set in Metropolis.
