Jackson Wang Discusses Industry Appreciation Amid BamBam’s Cryptic Posts
On October 2, 2024, Jackson Wang went viral online after posting a heartfelt comment on GOT7 member BamBam’s X post, which featured Justin Bieber’s song, Changes. Notably, BamBam had also shared this song on his Instagram story on October 1, with lyrics reflecting the challenges of smiling through pain and facing struggles.
Recently, BamBam has shared cryptic messages on X, seemingly indicating his struggles with mental health. In July 2024, he posted an Instagram story expressing the desire to fall asleep and never wake up. Following that, in September, he tweeted several messages reflecting his thoughts on his fandom.
As a fellow GOT7 member and a close friend, Jackson commented on the harsh realities of the K-pop industry, emphasizing that those around artists are often preoccupied with their own lives. He advised BamBam to “be more selfish”when it comes to setting personal boundaries and prioritizing his mental well-being.
“People closely around us especially in the industry. The only thing they care about is living their life like you are living yours. Different intentions. It’s facts, it’s reality. We all go through it, just different aspects. Don’t take it negatively. Sometimes you just gotta be more selfish and get things right for yourself,”he expressed.
Jackson went on to stress the importance of making difficult choices. He encouraged BamBam to find a space where he can “get appreciation”. He followed up with another tweet, reinforcing that fans admire BamBam for who he truly is and not for external factors.
“It’s not always a bad thing. We all have choices. Make them, Bam. Be at a place where you get appreciation. Don’t forget who you are. Love you for who you are. One more thing, Bam. Your audience loves you, you’re the reason. Not anything else, not the people, team, label, partners, or anyone else.”
K-pop fandoms unite in support of BamBam
Previously, on September 23, 2024, BamBam took to X to apologize to his fans for feeling “negative and sensitive”and announced his intention to take a break for his health. Fans responded with overwhelming support, assuring him to take the necessary time to recover.
“Don’t need to say sorry, just be yourself and I hope you are always happy tooooo. Luk na,”wrote one fan.
Unfortunately, the fans’ relief was short-lived. On September 29, 2024, BamBam conveyed on X that due to the people around him, he feels like dying. Furthermore, in another cryptic Instagram story posted on September 30, he mentioned,
“I’ll be gone for good 2025.”
In his latest Instagram update, he shared multiple pictures of himself with the following caption:
“Remember that life is yours before it’s too late.”
These updates created shockwaves among his fans and the broader K-pop community, prompting an outpour of support from various fandoms like the BTS fans (ARMY), TXT fans (MOA), Stray Kids fans (STAYs), EXO fans (EXO-L), and SEVENTEEN fans (CARAT), who left uplifting comments to encourage BamBam.
Furthermore, South Korean solo artist and rapper Jessi also showed her support in the comments of BamBam’s Instagram post. Fans expressed relief upon seeing idols like Jessi and Jackson openly support and reach out to the struggling rapper.
Meanwhile, BamBam is currently on his ongoing BAMESIS SHOWCASE TOUR, which has three shows remaining.
