Renowned Grammy Award-winning artist Jack Jones has sadly passed away at the age of 86. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the stepdaughter of the celebrated “Love Boat”singer, Nicole Whitty, confirmed the news, noting that Jack took his final breath on the evening of October 23, 2024.
At the time of his passing, he was receiving treatment at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Nicole Whitty also shared that he had been battling leukemia for two years prior to his death.
Jack leaves behind his wife Eleonora, whom he wed in 2009, along with his daughters Crystal and Nicole Jones, stepdaughters Nicole Whitty and Colette, and three grandchildren—Grace, Mercer, and Agnes.
The Early Career of Jack Jones
Born in 1938, Jack Jones began his journey in music shortly after completing high school. His inaugural performance was alongside his father at the Thunderbird Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In 1959, he secured a contract with Capitol Records and released his debut album, *This Love of Mine*, which quickly gained widespread popularity.
Throughout the years, Jones produced numerous other successful albums, including *Lollipops and Roses*, *Gift of Love*, *Bewitched*, *Wives and Lovers*, *The Jack Jones Christmas Album*, *She Loves Me*, *Dear Heart*, *Our Song*, *Without Her*, *If You Ever Leave Me*, and *I Am a Singer*, among many others. His last studio album, *ArtWork*, was released in 2023.
Many of his singles, such as *Poetry*, *The Race is On*, *The True Picture*, *A Day in the Life of a Fool*, *Lady*, *Live for Life*, *Follow Me*, *Sweet Changes*, *Games of Magic*, *What I Did for Love*, and several others, achieved top spots on international charts.
Jack Jones received considerable acclaim throughout his career, earning various awards including the Awit Award and several Grammy Awards. In addition to these honors, he was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Golden Palm Star in Palm Springs, California.
In terms of his personal life, Jack Jones experienced multiple marriages; his first was with actress Jill St. John during the 1960s, but it was short-lived. In the 1970s, he married Gretchen Roberts, a relationship that also ended in divorce. He then wed Kathy Simons in 1976 but separated six years later, in 1982.
His next marriage was to Kim Ely, which lasted until 2005, after which he found lasting love with Eleonora, marrying her in 2009 and residing in Palm Springs, California.
Jack Jones’s family is heartbroken over the loss of their beloved member, though they have yet to announce details regarding his funeral and memorial services.
