Agatha All Along has diverged from a long-standing Marvel Studios tradition by foregoing post-credit scenes entirely. The series, which serves as a sequel to WandaVision, concluded its two-episode finale on November 1, 2024, leaving fans without any tantalizing hints for upcoming projects. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer shared insights on this unusual choice during her interviews with Entertainment Weekly and Variety.
Decisions Behind the Absence of Post-Credit Scenes
Schaeffer explained that she initially crafted multiple end-credit sequences for the series, consistent with her work on previous Marvel projects. However, it was ultimately a decision from Marvel to eliminate these scenes from the final cut. She remarked:
“I wrote a number of post-credit scenes… Ultimately, it was a Marvel decision not to have a tag on this show.”
Missing Elements from Agatha All Along
In addition to the absent post-credit scenes, Schaeffer revealed that other anticipated characters, such as the notorious demon Mephisto, were also left out. Despite early mentions in the series, Mephisto did not make an appearance, leaving fans eager for more information. Schaeffer noted:
“Very, very, very early on there was a conversation, but logistically it wasn’t possible for us.”
Connections to Other Marvel Characters
Another notable absence was Teddy Altman, better known as Hulkling, who is traditionally associated with Billy Maximoff—a character anticipated by many. Schaeffer indicated that discussions about including Hulkling took place, but the character was ultimately omitted due to Marvel’s decisions:
“There were early conversations [about Hulkling]… That was a Marvel decision to not have him be Hulkling for the purposes of our show.”
Despite Eddie being featured in the series as Billy’s love interest, Schaeffer clarified that he is not intended to be Hulkling within the context of Agatha All Along.
