IU and IVE’s Long-Awaited Meeting
On January 20, fans witnessed a much-anticipated gathering between IU and the popular girl group IVE. This reunion marked their first official meeting after a planned encounter fell through the previous year.
IU’s Palette Episode Featuring IVE
The occasion was celebrated during Episode 31 of IU’s web series, IU’s Palette, which premiered on her YouTube channel, IU Official. The episode’s charm was heightened by the presence of IVE, whose hairstylist happens to be IU’s as well.
Inevitably Delayed Encounter
During the episode, IU candidly shared the reasons for their delayed meeting, attributing it to her health issues last year. She took the time to express her regret: “I want to take this opportunity to apologize once again,” she said, bowing deeply to the six members of IVE.
In a light-hearted response, the IVE members responded with reassurance, insisting that it was all fine and that they only cared about IU’s well-being during her recovery.
Health Struggles and Unfortunate Postponements
Elaborating on the circumstances surrounding the canceled meeting, IU recalled how, on the original recording day, she woke up feeling unwell. “I had a high fever. I had to go to see a doctor that day, so I canceled the recording,”she stated, reflecting on the unexpected turn of events that disrupted their plans.
A Chance Encounter and Heartfelt Apologies
Interestingly, IU later had an unexpected encounter with Liz, one of the IVE members, in an elevator. During this chance meeting, she conveyed her apologies that had weighed on her mind.
Reflecting on the incident, IU remarked, “That still lingers in my mind. The worst thing I did in 2024,” to which the IVE members immediately reacted with kindness, encouraging her that they were only concerned about her health at the time.
Promising to Create Memorable Moments
In a show of goodwill, IU promised to make their time on the program special, stating her wish to help IVE shine even brighter during the episode.
IVE’s Musical Journey Continues
As IVE fans anticipate more from the group, they recently released their new single “REBEL HEART” on January 13, available across various music streaming platforms. Furthermore, their EP, titled IVE EMPATHY, is set to launch on February 3, keeping fans excited for what’s next.
