“It’s still cut” – Tyson Fury’s former opponent shares concerns about his eye ahead of the Oleksandr Usyk title fight

On May 18, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will go head to head in what is expected to be one of the most significant matches in the heavyweight division’s history.

The duo will compete for the four world titles, and the victor will earn the distinction of being the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

The match was initially planned for Dec. 23rd, but Fury’s previous bout against Francis Ngannou, which took place a few weeks earlier, turned out to be more difficult than he had anticipated.

The original date for the Usyk fight was postponed to Feb. 17, but unfortunately, the WBC champion sustained a cut above his eye, leading to his withdrawal from the title match. Derek Chisora, who had previously faced Fury, has now voiced his worries about the condition of Fury’s eye leading up to the May 18th fight.

During his recent interview with Lights Out, Chisora stated:

“I think for this fight Fury is going to have to box, he can’t stand there ’cause his eye has not healed yet. Under the eye it’s still cut. I know Usyk is going to be training to target that eye, to open that eye up. It’s going to be a bloodbath.”
