“It’s so wonderful to be married to my best friend”: Smosh’s Courtney Miller confirms marriage to Shayne Topp by posting wedding photos
Courtney Miller and Shayne Topp, from the popular YouTube channel Smosh, surprised fans on Monday, April 1, by sharing a collection of stunning wedding photos on social media. Despite some initial speculation that it was an April Fool’s Day joke, the couple confirmed in an exclusive interview with People magazine that their marriage is indeed real.
To those unfamiliar, Shayne Topp was introduced as a member of Smooth in 2015 alongside Courtney Miller. Some of the noteworthy videos he has appeared in include Water Balloon Roulette Challenge, Shayne’s Erotic Novel, What is a Munge, and Try Not to Laugh Challenge, among others.
As previously mentioned, Courtney Miller is a member of the Smosh family. She can be seen in several videos such as Smosh Pit Weekly, Whoa! Nature Show, Eat It or Yeet It, Why We’re Bad At Dating, and Culinary Crimes, among others.
The couple has previously collaborated on additional projects, such as the television show The Goldbergs and Disney Channel’s So Random!
On April 1, the pair shared photos of themselves, much to the surprise of Smosh supporters. The caption read:
“Obviously 3.29.24.”
Miller was spotted wearing a short white dress and a veil, while Topp donned a brown suit and tie. The couple exuded joy in a series of photos, including ones in front of a courthouse, posing with flowers, gazing at the water, and a shot of Topp getting down on one knee to propose to Miller, among others.
In a statement to People magazine on Wednesday, April 3, 28-year-old Courtney Miller announced that she and Topp had officially tied the knot in late March.
“Shayne and I indeed got married on March 29, at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. It’s so wonderful to be married to my best friend,” she said.

Miller and her spouse, who is 32 years old, have been collaborating on the Smooth team for a considerable amount of time. She has also openly shared details about her past romantic partnerships in various videos, such as Courtney’s Boyfriend Reveal and Courtney Interviews Her Exes.
Despite typically keeping his relationships private, Shayne Topp’s breakup with an unidentified woman was revealed in the We React To An Unaired Smosh Sketch video.
Courtney Miller discussed the experience of sharing her personal life with her followers, stating:
“It’s nice to finally have our relationship out in the open. And the fans’ reactions have been very heartwarming.”
The Smooth channel’s official social media accounts also shared a clip of Miller announcing her marriage. In the video, she can be heard telling Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox.
“I make silly videos, of course I’m happy… You’re going to have to bleep this out, but I’m getting married.”
Shelby Young, a voice actress and friend of the couple, also confirmed the marriage. In an Instagram post, she shared several photos of the nuptials and wrote:
“getting to celebrate one of your oldest and best friends marry their soulmate, who’s also become a truly amazing friend, is a 10/10 experience ily both so much @shaynetopp and @co_mill MARRIED MARRIED MARRIED”
It would not be unexpected to fans that the duo has gotten together, as viewers of Smosh content have always rooted for them because of their frequent on-screen appearances together.
