“It’s like a carbon copy of yourself” – Tye Ruotolo says daily grind alongside twin brother Kade took them to the top in BJJ
Kade and Tye Ruotolo are thankful to have each other as twin brothers, as they are able to compete together in the constantly evolving world of submission grappling.
Throughout their childhood, the pair climbed the ranks together and over the course of the last ten years, they have consistently achieved all of the possible accolades in their sport.
In recent years, the Atos representatives, who have both trained under the legendary BJJ athlete and coach Andre Galvao, have made a name for themselves on the global stage of ONE Championship. As anticipated, they have lived up to the high expectations.
Together, Tye Ruotolo and Kade have achieved a flawless 10-0 record at the world’s biggest martial arts league, securing impressive wins over MMA world champions Shinya Aoki, Marat Gafurov, and Reinier de Ridder, as well as hard-fought victories against Tommy Langaker, Matheus Gabriel, and Uali Kurzhev.
During a recent conversation with The Shintaro Higashi Show, Tye Ruotolo reflected on their formative years and the success they currently experience.
“Having a twin brother, it’s like a carbon copy of yourself, you know. So really it’s for clothes and everything else, everything makes sense. That’s pretty sure, definitely, is the reason why we’re as far as we’re at today, you know, as far as our competition and everything, it’s because of that. Every single day, we’ve been working together perfecting our styles.”
