“It’s going to be a hard fight” – Regian Eersel refuses to call his shots in lightweight war vs Alexis Nicolas
Despite already holding the titles for both ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai, Regian Eersel’s recent back-to-back knockout victories have only increased expectations for his upcoming fight against Alexis Nicolas. Another knockout win is highly anticipated from the reigning champion.
On April 5, Regian Eersel will defend his ONE lightweight kickboxing world title against Nicolas in the main event of ONE Fight Night 21. The highly-anticipated match will take place at the bustling Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, in front of a sold-out crowd.
However, ‘The Immortal’ dismissed the notion that he would breeze past his 25-year-old opponent and score another impressive knockout. He elaborated on this point in his interview with CountFilms TV’s YouTube channel, stating:
“I hope so [I can finish him], but I cannot look in the future. I’m never saying I’m going to finish the guy or something. I know it’s going to be a hard fight but let’s hope I will finish it yeah.”
At the moment, the Surinamese superstar, who is 31 years old, has won 10 consecutive fights. In his latest win, which occurred in June 2023 at ONE Fight Night 11, he defeated Dmitry Menshikov in just 46 seconds.

The representative of Sityodtong Amsterdam also emphasized the importance of establishing trust with his coaches and cornermen as a key factor in achieving success. He attributes his success to their support and acknowledges that he could not have achieved the same level of triumph without them.
