“It’s going to be a busy year” – Kade Ruotolo gives massive update about his impending MMA debut
Fans and experts alike are becoming increasingly restless for the highly anticipated mixed martial arts debut of ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo.
The 21-year-old BJJ prodigy confesses that he has been eagerly anticipating the day when he can finally put on the four-ounce gloves and compete in the world’s biggest martial arts organization.
It appears that the long-awaited moment of truth is about to become a reality. In an interview with Andrew Whitelaw of the South China Morning Post, Ruotolo disclosed that he has a scheduled opponent and date for his transition to MMA.
Despite not being able to disclose too many specifics about the match, the Atos standout, Kade Ruotolo, assured that it will be happening in the near future.
“I believe this will be my last jiu-jitsu match of the year [in ONE] until my MMA match, which is really exciting. So definitely in the near future. But I got a lot of jiu-jitsu matches that I want to do this year, so it’s going to be a busy year.”

Kade Ruotolo’s Crucial Matchup against Francisco Lo
Although Kade Ruotolo is focused on MMA, he must first face the difficult challenge that awaits him at ONE Fight Night 21.
This upcoming Friday, the fighter from San Diego, California will face his formidable opponent Francisco Lo in a 180-pound catchweight submission grappling match at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
In the same interview, Ruotolo emphasized that he is not underestimating the ONE newcomer. As the youngest ADCC champion, he stated:
“He throws kind of a caution to the wind and throws out crazy submissions like jumping triangles, flying triangles, foot locks. He kind of attacks all parts of the body. So it will be an entertaining match-up for sure.”
