“It would be such a significant achievement” – Prajanchai explains the prestige of rare two-sport supremacy
Prajanchai PK Saenchai emphasized the significance of achieving the status of a two-sport world champion in order to solidify his legacy.
In late 2023, Prajanchai took advantage of his two consecutive victories to secure a rematch against Joseph Lasiri, the reigning ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion. At ONE Friday Fights 46, the Thai fighter made a powerful statement by defeating Lasiri in just 88 seconds, avenging his previous defeat and reclaiming the ONE championship title.
In 2024, he will make his first return since Friday and will not be defending his Muay Thai title. Instead, he aims to create history by defeating ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Di Bella and become the two-sport champion.
In an interview with Sportsmanor, the PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym representative elaborated on the significance of winning a second world title.
“This opportunity of having a chance to be a kickboxing champion would be an important milestone for me. If I win on Friday, it would be such a significant achievement. I wouldn’t think that I would be successful, but it’ll make me a step closer to becoming successful.”
The ONE Friday Fights 58 co-main event will showcase Jonathan Di Bella competing against Prajanchai at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Taking place on April 5, this event will include two world title fights and can be accessed through pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.

Which organization would Prajanchai join as a dual-sport world champion?
Currently, the ONE Championship roster boasts three world champions who excel in two different sports.
Regian Eersel has an impressive promotional record of 10-0, having successfully secured both the ONE lightweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world titles. On April 5, Eersel will be defending his kickboxing title against Alexis Nicolas in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 21. North American subscribers can tune in to watch the event on Prime Video.
Roman Kryklia, a Ukrainian heavyweight powerhouse, is up next. Like Eersel, Kryklia has remained undefeated in ONE (6-0) and has achieved world titles in both kickboxing and Muay Thai. In December 2023, he secured a second-round victory via knockout against Alex Roberts.
In November 2023, Jonathan Haggerty secured the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title by knocking out Fabricio Andrade. He will now defend his bantamweight Muay Thai throne against Superlek, the flyweight kickboxing world champion, on September 6. This highly anticipated match-up is one of two world title bouts featured at ONE 168.
