“It was so laughable”: Fast & Furious star Ludacris responds to Katt Williams’ Club Shay Shay interview
In response to Katt Williams’ comments on Club Shay Shay on January 3, 2024, Ludacris appeared for an interview on The Breakfast Club on Monday, April 1. During the interview, he was asked about Katt’s words and he provided a response.
“Charlemagne, it was so laughable when he said that…. I couldn’t believe that he was saying you know what I mean? I took it as a laughable because he’s a comedian.”
In the interview, Williams alleged that the singer had joined a “clandestine group”in order to advance his career in the movie business. Ludacris responded by stating that he was unaware of any possible interactions between Williams and the role in question.
Additionally, in the interview, Katt discussed the casting choices for the film.
“It had to be one or the other of us, and the decisions had to be made.”
Katt Williams Goes Off on Ludacris’ Wife During Club Shay Shay Interview
In January of this year, Katt Williams gained attention for his statements about Ludacris on Club Shay Shay. Williams alleged that the Fast X actor was connected to a covert group, and that they had both been invited to participate in an “Illuminati thing.”
As stated previously, the comedian shared that either he or Ludacris were originally intended to be cast in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Williams elaborated on this by stating:
“One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more with the points. And the next person, they said, was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him 10 million a movie to do 20 movies.”
During the conversation, the Rebound star stated that although he was not disappointed about losing the role, he did mention that it was given to someone whose wife he described as having a “light-skinned ugly face.”Ludacris was not the only person Williams addressed during the conversation, as he also targeted other personalities such as Ice Cube and Diddy.
The Max Payne lead actor retaliated to Katt’s remarks with a freestyle rap, beginning with the following verse:
“I bring my watch collection on my jet, let me take my time/ Like fine wine I’m aging like Benjamin/ Top five, I’m worth mentioning.”
On January 5, 2024, the artist shared the video on Instagram. The comments section was filled with numerous reactions, and one person pointed out that Christopher had not refuted anything mentioned by Katt during the interview. Another individual declared that rap was the perfect medium to respond to “Fast and Furiously.”
Ludacris, also known as Christopher Brian Bridges, began his role as Tej Parker in the 2003 release of 2 Fast 2 Furious, the second film in the franchise.
The final installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast & Furious 11, will feature Ludacris in his next appearance. The release date has been scheduled for April 4 of next year, but additional information regarding the plot and other familiar characters has not yet been announced.
Katt Williams Fires Back at Ludacris with a Fiery Freestyle
Following the viral success of Ludacris’ rap video, Katt Williams made an appearance on the Collect Call Podcast a week later. In reaction to the 46-year-old’s lyrics, Williams stated:
“I’m coming for your number one spot, one of us a killer and the other one is not/ One of us the realest and the other one a fraud.”
Despite the fact that the duo’s feud garnered a lot of attention, there were also reactions from other celebrities in response to Katt’s remarks. This included Kevin Hart, who was mentioned by Katt as being considered for the films Hart has starred in. In response, Hart shared a tweet featuring the trailer for his movie Lift and included a snippet of his thoughts in the caption:
“There is a moment in the trailer where @gugumbatharaw says, ‘They Really Love You’ …. I now know she’s talking about “Katt.”Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is Special!!!!”
Despite Ludacris’ humorous reaction to Katt Williams’ comments, the latter has remained silent and has not shared any response thus far.
Conversely, it has been reported that Shannon Sharpe made a significant profit from Williams’ appearance on Club Shay Shay. During his appearance on Nightcap, Williams asserted that he was earning three times more than his salary.
“I just got the check. So whatever you think I made, 3x it. So if you think I made $500,000, 3x it. If you think I made a million, 3x it. If you think I made $2 million, 3x it.”
Katt Williams gained recognition for his appearances on popular shows such as Comedy Central Roast and Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz.
