“It was so chaotic”: Rachel Leviss slams Tom Sandoval over unauthorised recording of her

On March 24, during her podcast Rachel Goes Rogue, reality TV star Rachel Leviss criticized Tom Sandoval for reportedly recording her without her permission. She stated:

“It was so chaotic that I didn’t have, like, that ability to process what just happened. It was like survival mode.”

After suing Tom for the recording, post-Scandoval, Rachel publicly shared her thoughts on the matter for the first time. She took legal action against her Vanderpump Rules co-stars, Ariana and Tom, accusing them of eavesdropping, revenge, and invasion of privacy.

Rachel’s alleged experience with severe trauma after watching the recording prompted her to voluntarily seek treatment at a mental health facility for several months. This ultimately resulted in her departure from the show and during a podcast, she openly discussed the impact the incident had on her mental well-being.

In the Vanderpump Rules season 10 finale, Ariana Madix discovered that Tom Sandoval had been unfaithful to her with her close friend, Rachel Leviss. This infidelity, known as the Scandoval scandal, ultimately caused the demise of Tom and Ariana’s relationship, which had spanned nine years.

Rachel Leviss speaks out about Tom Sandoval’s violation of her privacy

During an episode of her iHeart Radio podcast, Rachel Leviss, host of Rachel Goes Rogue, revealed that she underwent “trauma therapy”following the discovery of Tom’s recording of her. She explained that it took her some time to come to terms with the incident and remembered the phone conversation she had with Tom afterwards.

Rachel stated that she had confronted Tom by informing him that she could never forgive him for his actions. In response, Tom attempted to have her legal counsel dismissed and requested that she hire his own lawyer. Afterwards, she recalled Tom’s reply:

“The last thing we need you to do right now is go rogue.”

Rachel mentioned that she often daydreamed about calling Tom and informing him that she had “gone rogue,”which ultimately became the inspiration for her podcast’s title – Rachel Goes Rogue.

The Vanderpump Rules star recounted how Tom’s behavior towards her was like that of a girlfriend when he brought her to meet his mother in St. Louis. She shared:

“He brought me to his mom’s house, and we made food and I slept downstairs in their like basement area … The way Tom would present things made it feel so normal.”

Rachel claimed that Tom’s mother had informed her that Ariana had not visited St. Louis in a long time. She also mentioned that Tom’s mother had approved of their relationship, but that should not have been a justification for Tom’s infidelity.

The controversial recording involving Rachel Leviss and Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules

The controversial video in question featured a private Facetime conversation between Rachel Leviss and Tom Sandoval. After discovering the recording on Tom’s phone on March 3, 2023, Ariana sent it to her own phone. Rachel later filed a lawsuit against both Tom and Ariana, alleging that Ariana also shared the video with multiple other cast members from Vanderpump Rules and was subsequently instructed by Rachel’s lawyer to delete it.

The lawsuit also mentioned that Rachel Leviss had apologized multiple times to Ariana for her actions that resulted in harm to Scandoval. It also mentioned:

“Lost in the mix was that Leviss was a victim of the predatory and dishonest behavior of an older man, who recorded s**ually explicit videos of her without her knowledge or consent, which were then distributed, disseminated and discussed publicly by a scorned woman seeking vengeance, catalyzing the scandal.”

Episodes of Vanderpump Rules season 11 are released every Tuesday at 8 pm ET.
