‘It was my last “f**k you” to them’- Former WrestleMania main-eventer talks about final match before leaving WWE

In her most recent book, Ronda Rousey disclosed that her last WWE match was a bold statement directed towards both the fans and the company.

Despite experiencing both highs and lows in her WWE career, Ronda Rousey’s journey was filled with memorable moments, from her debut and headlining WrestleMania to her departure from the Stamford-based promotion. As she bid farewell, she had the opportunity to face her dear friend Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at WWE SummerSlam last year.

Despite its unconventional nature and slow and uncomfortable action, the bout between Rousey and Baszler received mixed reviews from fans worldwide. In her upcoming book Our Fight: A Memoir, Rousey expressed her pride in the match, believing that they effectively portrayed realism. However, she acknowledged that the fans’ lack of appreciation left her feeling as though the match was a ‘f**k you’ to both the fans and the company.

“For the very last time, I loved every second of it. Somewhere in the crowd, I heard the rumblings of ‘This is boring.’ But the fans weren’t able to sync up from around the stadium and the chant died. I didn’t even care. I expected the fans weren’t going to understand. They weren’t going to appreciate it. If anything, making them sit through it was my last ‘f**k you’ to them and the company. But it was the match that we wanted it to be. It was a match that I was proud of. That’s all that mattered.”[H/T – Inside The Ropes]

WWE Superstars’ Response to Ronda Rousey’s Controversial Comments on the Wrestling Industry

Despite not being explicitly stated, Ronda Rousey’s decision to leave WWE in the past year was likely influenced by her disagreements with the company, a topic she delves into extensively in her upcoming book.

The former Women’s Champion does not hesitate to voice her criticism of WWE and its upper management. According to recent reports, the reactions from backstage to her comments are not unexpected, considering Rousey’s apparent dissatisfaction during her second stint with the company.

Our Fight: A Memoir is scheduled to be officially released on April 4th, and pre-orders are currently available.
