The highly anticipated conclusion of Love is Blind season 7 debuted on Netflix on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. This exciting episode featured the three final couples — Ramses and Marissa, Garrett and Taylor, and Tyler and Ashley — as they faced significant choices ahead of their weddings. Unfortunately, one couple could not overcome their inner turmoil, resulting in the end of their romance before they could say “I do.”
In episode 12, titled “Leap of Faith,”Ramses decided to cancel his wedding with Marissa. He confessed that his fear of how their marriage might turn out weighed heavily on him. Ramses shared that after discussions about his ex-wife’s struggles following their divorce, he began to question his own decisions and feared he might cause Marissa similar pain if he proceeded.
Despite Marissa’s attempts to convince Ramses to rethink his choice, he expressed that her energy felt overwhelming. This led him to ultimately break up with her, leaving Marissa devastated.
“This is like the worst heartbreak I’ve ever experienced. It hurts so bad,”Marissa shared.
Marissa firmly believed Ramses was making a grave mistake in ending things. However, he was resolute in his choice, explaining that his lack of trust in their relationship played a significant role in his decision.
“I feel like I’m dying inside”— Marissa grapples with the heartbreak
The finale presented a challenging scenario as Ramses and Marissa navigated their future. Marissa exuded confidence about their journey as a married couple, while Ramses expressed his concerns. Following a call with his niece’s mother LaDallas and conversations with his brother, he learned that his ex-wife was suffering more from their divorce than he had realized.
Ramses confessed he was frightened that history might repeat itself and that he would hurt Marissa if he chose to follow his emotions. He concluded that love alone might not be sufficient to support their relationship, sharing that despite their “incredible bond,”there were certain issues he could not ignore.
“That’s a thing that could, like, potentially, if it’s not working well, it can, like, potentially grind us down over time,”he explained.
Marissa sought to ease Ramses’ worries, stating, “There is more than love here.”She assured him of her love and commitment to give him the time and space he needed to sort out his feelings. Marissa expressed her dedication to helping him navigate his emotions, as she viewed marriage as “a promise and a commitment.”
She felt they complemented each other, but Ramses remained unconvinced. He admitted that he tended to make emotional decisions that had led him to mistakes in the past, which prompted him to prioritize logical reasoning going forward.
“It’s about your energy and my energy, living and coexisting in the same space is what it is…Is your energy gonna be too much for me or is it gonna, like, make me feel, you know, like overwhelmed? Is it gonna be, like, too much for me?”
Ramses’ words broke Marissa’s heart, making her feel as if she was to blame. She was disheartened that he could not look beyond her energy, believing it was a minor issue she could easily address. Nevertheless, Ramses insisted that Marissa could not predict how their relationship would unfold since it had not yet played out.
In a moment of despair, Marissa broke down when she realized she could not change Ramses’ mind about their wedding. She expressed disbelief at how quickly he had become uncertain about their relationship, leaving her ring with Ramses and stepping out in anguish.
“I just feel like…I feel like dying inside. Like, I’m just…I don’t know. I just…I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know,”Marissa expressed.
Marissa reflected on how it felt “crazy”that their relationship ended just days after choosing their dance song. Overcome with emotion, she called her mother to share the news, unable to hold back her tears.
