Is Family Sharing Available for EA FC 25 on Steam?

EA FC 25 is now available globally on all platforms, including PC, and fans are eager to know whether the game can be Family Shared on Steam. The Steam Family Sharing feature is widely popular due to its capability to let multiple users access a game purchased on a single account. Unfortunately, it appears that this is not an option for EA Sports’ latest football simulation game.

As the second title in the newly branded EA Sports FC series following the conclusion of their long-term collaboration with FIFA, EA FC 25 aims to set new sales records, surpassing its predecessors. The game introduces a fresh tactical approach to the virtual football experience, which is both captivating and immersive. Thus, the inability to Family Share the game on Steam is a significant disappointment for many players.

EA FC 25 is not compatible with Steam’s Family Share feature

Sharing games among friends and family has always been one of the most enjoyable and social aspects of gaming. While this practice was simpler during the era of physical game discs, there are several digital sharing mechanisms available today.

In particular, EA FC 25 can be shared across multiple accounts using Game Sharing on the PlayStation console. However, this option does not extend to Family Sharing on Steam.

What is Family Sharing?

Family Sharing is a function within the Steam Families feature that enables gamers to share their purchased games with up to five other accounts. This system is straightforward to set up and can be utilized via the Steam Client, mobile devices, and web browsers.

Why is EA FC 25 ineligible for the Steam Family Share feature?

Although only one account can access a specific game at once, this feature remains valuable across various games in multiple genres. Unfortunately, there are specific reasons why EA FC 25 does not qualify.

According to the FAQs on Steam’s website, games that require a third-party key, account, or subscription cannot be shared through Family Sharing. Like many other titles from EA Sports, this latest installment in the EA Sports FC franchise also falls into this category, as players must create a distinct EA account to access online features such as Ultimate Team.

This situation is likely to frustrate fans who wish to share the game with friends or family, as they will need to purchase the game individually on their respective Steam accounts.
