In 2018, Kody Brown purchased the Coyote Pass property located in Flagstaff, Arizona, offering each of his Sister Wives a share with hopes of constructing a large family home. However, that dream came crashing down as Meri, Janelle, and Christine distanced themselves from Kody, leading to the dissolution of their big family vision on Sister Wives.

After parting ways with Kody, Christine opted to sell her share of Coyote Pass to create distance. Meanwhile, Meri and Janelle retained their shares, deliberating on the possibility of selling theirs.

During their conversation, Janelle conveyed her desires to Christine, expressing her attempts to discuss selling off her share of the property with Kody. In her confessional, Janelle revealed her dream of living on a farm, a notion that Kody did not support.

“I’ve always wanted my own piece of land… where I could have a garden, maybe a few animals, and live simply. Kody, on the other hand, hates everything about farm life and prefers to be viewed as the city guy with the fancy car and great job,”Janelle explained in her confessional.

Janelle informed Christine that she and Maddie had explored land in Montana, recognizing the potential to realize her farming aspirations elsewhere. However, she expressed frustration that Kody was not open to discussions about selling her property share.

Janelle mentioned feeling pressured to make decisions regarding her future since she wasn’t legally married to Kody and couldn’t claim her share through court action. Christine probed her about the status of her marriage with Kody and whether he was aware of her feelings.

Janelle shared that she perceived their marriage as over, citing Kody’s frequent avoidance and lack of communication. The couple rarely spoke on the phone and resorted to texting for business matters.

Christine encouraged Janelle to have a direct conversation with Kody, suggesting it was time to finalize things. However, Janelle expressed that Kody consistently evaded discussions.

“I’ve been trying to talk to him about the land, but he keeps making excuses… like ‘Can’t talk for this reason,’ and then that reason passes, and another excuse arises,”Janelle disclosed.
