iPhone SE 4 Cases Surface Online to Reveal Major Design Changes, Including Larger Display, Smaller Notch For Face ID, More
The upcoming fourth-generation iPhone SE from Apple is currently in the works, and the company has announced a significant redesign for its budget-friendly iPhone. As we have previously reported, the new device will feature a completely altered design compared to the iPhone SE 3, as Apple shifts towards Touch ID and a full-screen appearance similar to recent models by the company. Recently, images of iPhone SE 4 cases have emerged online, revealing the size and design of the upcoming device.
Leaked iPhone SE 4 Cases Reveal iPhone 14-Inspired Design with Single Camera and Notch for Face ID
Recent reports have revealed that BOE will be providing the OLED display for the upcoming iPhone SE 4. The device is expected to boast a 6.1-inch screen, with a Face ID feature replacing the traditional Touch ID found in the Home Button. This move marks a departure from the older iPhone 6-like design for the SE lineup, which Apple had been sticking to for quite some time. While it may be argued that the design has been stretched out for too long, it did allow the company to maintain a reasonable base price for the iPhone while incorporating the latest technology.
The design of the iPhone SE 4 will take inspiration from the iPhone 14, featuring flat edges and a small notch on the top to accommodate the front-facing camera and TrueDepth sensors for Face ID. Recently, tipster Majin Bu posted pictures of iPhone SE 4 cases that reveal the rumored design of the device. These images show that the iPhone SE 4 will have a smaller notch, similar to the one introduced with the iPhone 13 series, which will house all the essential sensors for Face ID and the front camera.

The back of the device reveals that the SE 4 will have a single camera accompanied by a flash and microphone. Although the sensor is bigger than the previous model, it bears a resemblance to the iPhone XR, as the company typically reserves additional camera sensors for their high-end models. However, the device does not seem to have a camera bump, as the camera protrudes directly from the back glass.
Finally, the side view of the iPhone SE 4 case also reveals the design, and it appears that the device will not include an Action Button based on the cutout above the Volume Button. Previous speculations suggested that the iPhone SE 4 would adopt an iPhone 14-like design with an Action Button, but the cutout on the case is actually intended for the Mute Switch.
It is yet to be determined if the company will continue with the Mute Switch or transition to the Action Button. It should be noted that the design of the upcoming iPhone SE 4 is still uncertain as it is expected to be released next year. Despite the potential for a new design and improved features, early speculations suggest that the fourth-generation iPhone SE may experience a significant decrease in value. We will provide additional updates on the device once more information becomes available.
