Previously, users reported issues such as oxidation affecting the paint color of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which appeared to shift from Cosmic Orange to Rose Gold, and even paint peeling due to the use of wet wipes. Now, a Reddit user named ‘Stark956′ has pointed out issues with the device’s construction, showing images that reveal the rear glass misalignment. The phone in question was purchased through AT&T, and the imperfection is noticeable in the upper left corner of the back panel.
If the device had been a more affordable model, the owner might have been more lenient with the defect. However, feedback from other Reddit users suggested that more serious concerns exist, and several recommended using a case to obscure the misalignment. Others advised the owner to pursue an exchange with AT&T for a replacement.
Yet, the exchange process does carry risks. Should the owner decide to return the iPhone 17 Pro Max, they may invalidate their current trade-in deal and incur an additional $55 restocking fee. It seems quality control challenges are not a new phenomenon, as another user, ‘Terminatz, ’ recalled similar rear glass misalignment issues with his iPhone 13, indicating this may have been a persistent issue since that model’s release.
