InZOI is an immersive simulation game reminiscent of The Sims, where players manage a virtual family, making critical life decisions and creating a nurturing environment for exploring life’s adventures.
Players begin by forming a family unit, choosing whether to create a single character or an entire household. A key aspect of character creation is selecting the starting life stage for each Zoi. These characters will then journey through various life phases until they reach the end of their existence.
What unique experiences await your Zois as they progress through these life stages? Let’s delve into the details.
Life Stages in InZOI

InZOI features a total of six selectable life stages during character creation, while the journey encompasses nine stages overall. The initial stages—infant, toddler, and adolescent—develop organically as the game progresses, rather than being chosen. The other stages available for selection include child, teenager, young adult, adult, middle-aged, and senior.

Each life stage lasts a distinct number of in-game days, with adulthood and seniority being the longest, followed by middle age. Notably, one in-game day translates to roughly 96 minutes in real-life time.
This setup means that a Zoi transitioning from infancy to seniority can expect to experience around six days in real life. Alternatively, starting as a young adult provides a lifespan of about five real days. Let’s explore each life stage in more detail.
Infant/Newborn Stage

The infancy stage marks the beginning of a Zoi’s life cycle, lasting approximately one game day or 96 minutes in real-time. While this stage requires care, it’s relatively easy to overlook because a babysitter will automatically step in if the house is left unattended.
Interactions mainly revolve around bonding with the newborn, and it is common for players to prioritize the toddler phase, given the short duration of infancy.
Toddler Stage

As the second stage unfolds, toddlers require more active engagement than infants, though players can still rely on babysitters. During this time, players should prioritize meeting their Zoi’s fundamental needs, such as hunger, hygiene, and sleep.
In this nurturing phase, spending time with toddlers through the interactions menu is essential for ensuring they feel cared for and loved.
Child and Adolescent Stages

During the child and adolescent stages, the reliance on caregivers diminishes significantly. Players gain more control over their Zoi, allowing them to handle most daily tasks independently. Nonetheless, parental oversight remains crucial, especially for social interactions and schooling.
At this stage, players can also select personality traits for their characters, providing depth and individuality; life goals, however, cannot yet be assigned since they are still developing.
Teenager Stage

As the Zoi enters their teenage years, they gain greater independence and the ability to interact with their environment in meaningful ways. This stage encompasses high school, marking a significant progression in their education and life experience.
Teenage Zois typically spend around 480 minutes in this stage, roughly equivalent to eight hours in real life, during which they will not yet enter the workforce.
Young Adult Stage

Congratulations, your Zoi is transitioning into young adulthood! At this juncture, Zois are ready to step into the workforce, having completed high school.
During this stage, which lasts about 960 minutes in real life (approximately 16 hours), players can navigate their Zoi’s career path and make decisions that influence their future life direction.
Adult and Middle-Aged Stages

Both the adult and middle-aged phases are characterized by stability and progression in InZOI. During these times, players can establish families and pursue fulfilling careers, albeit with a gradual slowdown in life’s tempo.
These stages collectively represent the longest duration in-game, spanning approximately two real-life days, allowing players to experience rich narratives and the formation of family bonds.
Senior Stage

Entering the senior stage signifies the culmination of a Zoi’s life journey. At this point, they will retire and enjoy a tranquil existence, reflecting on a life well-lived.
Spanning approximately 3, 360 minutes in real time (about two days), this phase represents the longest stage of all, accommodating Zois aged 55 and over. Ultimately, this stage comes to a close as your Zoi peacefully passes away from old age.
