inZOI Launches New Official ModKit Update

KRAFTON Introduces Official ModKit Update for inZOI

KRAFTON has announced an exciting update for inZOI, the life simulation game that launched in early access earlier this year. The newly released ModKit is now available for download through the Epic Games Store, allowing players to create and share their custom mods.

Enhanced Modding Capabilities with Official Plugins

This ModKit comes equipped with essential plugins for popular 3D design software, including Maya and Blender. These tools simplify the process of creating personalized 3D assets, empowering modders to enhance the in-game experience uniquely. Players can upload their innovations to CurseForge, an Overwolf-operated platform, where they can manage and share their mods effortlessly as separate files.

Phased Updates to Expand Modding Features

KRAFTON has revealed plans to implement inZOI’s modding capabilities in three strategic phases over the year. The current update incorporates modding functionalities for outfit sets, furniture, as well as a user-friendly data editor to facilitate game data customization. Looking ahead, the September update will expand modding tools to cover character appearances and architectural designs, while also introducing interaction-based content modding. The final December update aims to deepen creative possibilities by allowing players to modify scripts and utilize localization tools.

Global Contests to Ignite Creativity

To foster a vibrant modding community within inZOI, KRAFTON is hosting two global competitions this month. In partnership with CurseForge, the ‘Next Top Modder’ hackathon will run from June 19 to August 1. Participants will compete for a prize pool of $11, 000, with winners having the opportunity to see their creations featured as official in-game content. Contest categories include Best Dress Set, Best Furniture Mod, Community Favorite, and Most Mods Submitted.

Furthermore, KRAFTON is teaming up with CONNECT, a platform for 3D fashion designers by CLO Virtual Fashion, to launch the ‘Every Style Starts with You’ outfit design contest, also from June 19 to August 1. Creators will design whole outfits with a total prize pool of up to $26, 200 available for 15 selected winners. Categories will feature Ready-to-Wear, Fun & Playful Designs, and Conceptual Outfits inspired by creative storytelling and fantasy themes.

CEO’s Vision for Player-Driven Narrative

The CEO of KRAFTON, CH Kim, expressed the company’s commitment to empowering players in shaping inZOI’s narrative. He stated, “With the inZOI ModKit update, we’ve laid the groundwork for players to take the lead in shaping the game’s narrative. We will continue to make updates to the game based on various player feedback.”

Future of Steam Workshop Integration

While the developers have not included integration with Steam Workshop at this point, they remain open to the possibility, depending on community feedback and demand.
