As we await the episode, let’s explore the events that led to William Connole’s tragic murder.
Who was William Connole and what happened to him?
William Connole was born on April 11, 1950, and spent his early years in Maryland and Connecticut as the second of five siblings in a bustling household.
He graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Maryland, before obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Regis University. An avid rugby player, he continued with the sport and played for the Denver Highlanders. Connole had a diverse career that spanned construction and IT industries.
He was a loving father to two children, Yelena Gregg and Travis Harr-Connole, as well as a stepchild, Damien Harr. Despite a fulfilling family life, his world was shaken in 2010 when he was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, he overcame the illness and was declared cancer-free by 2014.
At the time of his murder, Connole had rekindled his love for construction and launched a woodworking business from his shop in Loveland. Life was progressing smoothly when he stepped out for work on the night of June 3, 2015. Tragically, around 10:45 PM, he was shot and killed from a passing pickup truck.
By the time police arrived, Connole had succumbed to his fatal injuries. Approximately 15 minutes later, another nearby shooting occurred, leaving a motorcyclist critically injured.
Who killed William Connole?
With limited leads beyond a photograph of the suspected pickup truck, the police faced a challenging investigation. However, they managed to connect Connole’s case to several other shootings in the area, leading them to a man named Christopher David Parker.
Despite having no previous convictions, forensic evidence mounted against Parker. He was arrested and charged with the murder of William Connole. Although his defense claimed he was suffering from various mental health issues contributing to his actions, Parker ultimately accepted a plea deal in 2023, resulting in a conviction for second-degree murder.
Parker was sentenced to 39 years in prison, where he currently remains.
